I was looking forward for dinner here for my fiancés birthday, I ordered the lamb ribs and steak combo and my fiancé ordered the 250g eye fillet, both came with the choice of fries or potatoes. The lamb ribs were great the steak was terrible and I asked for mash and I got dry den as mash. The fiancé said her eye fillet was really nice but to be quite honest you can get it anywhere just as good. In the end it come to the bill and after the 2 meals, a glass of wine and 2 beers it came to $ 85.00 after the $ 30.00 off coupon for the birthday. All in all very average and very overpriced, only good thing in my opinion was the ribs and the staff

I’ve had some family check this place out a while ago and they raved about it! So I gathered the family and headed in on Saturday night. I booked at last minute but no dramas with that and we got a table at 5.30pm. My partner and dad arrived prior to us ladies(typical) and while waiting ordered a beer and 6wings to share. They said the food was fantastic! Except only 5wings came out; when they finally flagged someone down they got told it goes on weight… why put 6wings on a menu then? Say a half serve or something. Overall the food was really good, tasty, huge servings, and really flavoursome. The only issue was the service. They had heaps of staff– but they didn’t seem to be doing much. No one came to offer extra drinks, we had to wait and wait and wait until we flagged someone down. That happened most of the night. Then after they gave us the bill they left and we never saw anyone again. We have no dramas walking to the counter to pay; but communicate that to the customers. I can understand that it was Saturday night and they were busy(the place was packed) but still… it’s Saturday night! If you can’t get your act together on one of the busiest nights then when will you??? We would have ordered more drinks and food if we were asked but we weren’t…

Wouldn’t go as far as to say ‘Brisbane’s Best Ribs.’ The pay /line up area leaves you waiting for ages, and whenever I’ve been they appear understaffed. It’s on the expensive side, the desserts aren’t all that appealing and while they always cook they steaks fantastically, the steak isn’t as good as stuff I can buy from the supermarket. I don’t normally write negative comments, but after today’s visit I have to say the service was horrible. Won’t be back anytime soon…

Ribs! Rumps! What more could a couple blokes want before a night out? Well, we only had rumps, but the ribs looked good. What can I say? It’s a nice looking place, the staff were friendly(and it was quiet on a Sunday night), and we enjoyed our meals, which were a nice size. Was it the best steak we’ve had? Nah. Will we be back? Probably, we want to do both the ribs and rumps sometime. It’s not amazing, but it’s worth another try.

Rude service. What else is there to say? Ruined any chance of enjoying the meal before we even got the food.

To be honest, Ribs & Rumps kind of just sucks to say the least. I’ve dined here once, and *attempted* to dine a second time a couple of months later(I’m a fan giving a second chance) but actually didn’t get seated due to the absolutely terrible service. My first experience here wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t fabulous. There seemed to be a new team of waitstaff on, and they were struggling to figure out whose role was whose. This resulted in a little bit of confusion when it came to ordering, and they initially brought out the wrong meals, but we got there in the end. I wasn’t overly impressed with my food — I had lamp chops which were average, but not terrible. The thing is, when I dine out I want it to be awesome! I felt like I could have cooked better lamp chops at home, and for a hell of a lot less than the $ 35 I paid for these ones. But as I said, overall, the experience wasn’t terrible. So a few weeks ago my partner was having a ribs craving, so we decided to give Ribs & Rumps a second shot. We arrived at about 7.30pm on a weeknight. The majority of tables were free, with maybe 4 or 5 groups already dining. We failed to get the attention of waitstaff(being told«sorry, I’ll just put this down and come back to seat you» by a waitress who then never returned) and so we lined up at the counter behind a group of people who had finished dining and were paying for their meals. It took about 10−15minutes for this group to finish paying, and for us to get to the front of the counter. Once there, we were told to wait by the bar for a table, while the hostess turned to serve someone who had just cut in front of us wanting to pay for their meal. I just have to reiterate that there were literally 20+ free tables… I really didn’t understand why on earth they were having such a difficultly seating us… So, we left because after waiting 20 minutes to be seated I really didn’t feel like giving them my money. Time to lift your game Ribs & Rumps.

My girlfriend too me here for valentines day 2014, probably the worst ribs I’ve ever had especially considering the price. Over cooked and dry. Average taste overall and stingy on the sauce! My girlfriend got the rump steak which was also over cooked and lacking in flavour. Service and setting was nice enough but that’s not what we were there for! Would not recommend them for ribs or for rumps.

We went here for my husband’s birthday and it was such a great start to the night. I booked a table(which is a must!) and we sat down very quickly and ordered. Although the food took a while we drank and chatted before our food came out. Was great Ribs ever, even though it’s a bit costly it’s worth it. Waiters were very accommodating and lovely. Even bought the cake out and sang happy birthday. Just a great atmosphere. Will always go back!

Being a self confessed«foodie» with perhaps a touch of arrogant hipster flavour preferences, I never thought in a million years I would end up at place called«Ribs and Rumps» — let alone enjoy the experience. The place was packed and the staff remained helpful and friendly, which is at great attribute to have… We were seated after having a beer in the outdoor bar seating area and then we got the menu. There was no mucking around. My dining partners had come for the ribs and it was an all in experience. Meaning, we came for the ribs but we were staying for the bibs! Yep, just like all those American hike diners in movies you see. We got a side of bibs with our half a rack of cow, lamb and pig each. I must say, what an experience. It just releases something primal inside and you just end up going for it as the portions are freaking huge… Omg, the lamb was so soft and succulent, it just falls off the bone. You might go kicking and screaming into this multistory kingdom of carnivores, but the morning meat sweats will be totally worth it.

After going to the Olympic Park Sydney franchise, i was stoked to see one of these opening up in Brisbane! But i have to say, its been mixed experiences, The first time was just a shamozle, at the time I was a smoker so popped outside for an «after entrée» treat, came back, table was completely cleared, and i mean COMPLETELY, even my beer which was no where near finished was taken, on the upside the manager hooked us up with a free meal for our next visit for the trouble. Otherwise every experience has been great, the trio of RIBSRIBSRIBS is a nice way to get a taste of every animal available, Cow, Pig and Lamb, Although i highly recommend the lamb for pull apart tasty rib goodness(i like to think of myself as a bit of a rib review queen), i found the beef a bit tough for my taste but the mister loved them! Perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or just when you need a rib fix. The prices arent super expensive, but deffo not cheap. the car park outside fills up quick, but there is also undercover parking available.

Had the rump a few times now. I order it blue and it’s perfect every time. The chips are crispy and did I say the steak is blue. Drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is chill.

We went to Ribs&Rumps for my birthday dinner. They were very helpful with booking a table — and I was booking a table for 18(yes, EIGHTEEN people. If you’re booking the place, you can do it online or call them — I especially like the online booking, as I hate making phone calls. I had no problems with booking, and even tho website says you need to put a deposit if you want a table for more than 12 people, I didn’t have to do it. When we arrived there was a huge table next to a huge bull ;) waiting for us. Pretty cool! We first went with drinks, as we were waiting for all people to come. We waited a bit for our friends, and finally started ordering. Unfortunately it took forever to get our orders(almost an hour wait) — I know there was MANY of us, but I still think an hour is quite long time. I had beef ribs — and I wish I had pork ribs! All my friends who went for pork ribs were saying that they were good. I’ve been told that steaks were OK too. My beef ribs were bit chewy and difficult to eat. We all got bibs, which I love ;) And there were plenty of wet napkins to clean your hands after ribs feast. The menu is big — you can get either simple meal, or you can get into combos — want to try all the meats? Sure, go ahead! They also have a steak challenge, I quote: «1KGMAN ‘O’ WARRUMPSTEAKWITHCHIPS& A FULLRACKOFJUICYRIBSWITHCHIPS». It does cost over 80 bucks. If you manage that, you get 10% off and a knife as a reward. I wasn’t that impressed with that — as much as all the challenges are usually fun, I’m used to Texan style — if you eat it, you get it for free! Unfortunately none of my friends wanted to try. Shame! I have to admit, I didn’t even look if they have any vegetarian options. I don’t eat meal of my meal(aka salads) too often. They accept credit cards and cash. You have to go to the cash register to pay — although that might have been a case only for us, because of the amount of people? I’m not sure. We had no problems with paying separately for whatever we had. It is quite pricey place; I think it was over $ 30 per person? Overall I really appreciate their help with booking the table for such a huge group, but the wait time was way too long, plus ribs were not as good as I was hoping for.

You know that feeling when you don’t really know what you want, then you see a place that just triggers something inside, and you realise that’s what you wanted all along? That’s how we stumbled on Ribs and Rumps. It seemed like everything we never knew we wanted! Such a shame, with diners like us, it should have been a lock. I’ll start on a high, but unfortunately it’s the only one. The staff here were fantastic. Super friendly, really helpful. Just great. But the staff and service should not be the stand alone highlight when you go to a restaurant. First up, the cocktails. I know this isn’t a cocktail bar, and you can’t expect anything too flash. But when you’re putting something up as a ‘signature cocktail’ you expect something passable at the least. Sweet, boozy, but lacking anything approaching a flavour. Next up, the entrée. Buffalo wings are not difficult. There are so many places in Brisbane that get them right. Ribs and rumps is not one of them. Wings weren’t crispy, buffalo sauce was bland, and the whole thing was an oily mess. I ordered a chicken parmigiana, which was not half bad. Tasted kind of like Pizza Shapes(if you were ever curious, Sumac is the spice that makes you want to dip your finger in the leftover crumbs in the corner of a bag of Pizza Shapes). Big, tasty, cheezy, can’t really complain. But I’ve had better for half the price. My wife ordered ribs, and here was the biggest disappointment. It’s the first word of the name of your restaurant. If you’re not getting this right, there’s no reason for you to be in business. Flavourless, dry, chewy and entirely reliant on the overly sweet sauce. If there had been a dog under the table, it would have been well fed. In a city which has a number of really REALLY good rib joints at a much more reasonable cost, there’s no reason to recommend Ribs and Rumps.

This restaurant is a disgrace. Go to Jujubar instead. It’s right next door. It has delicious Asian cuisine at very competitive prices.

The meals we had at Ribs and Rumps were pretty damn tasty, but it’s also quite pricey. Sauces are extra for your steak, and the meals don’t come with any salads, so you’re paying just for your meat and potato. My husband got the combo with steak, lamb ribs and beef ribs and the ribs were absolutely delicious. Big meaty ribs, and the meat just fell off the bone. I haven’t found many places that offer beef and lamb ribs, usually it’s just pork, so thumbs up for that! The place was very busy on a Saturday night and very loud. Everyone was wearing big paper bibs around their necks, even when they were going outside for a smoke. Pretty funny looking, seeing groups of guys outside with bibs around their neck. Being that it was a Saturday night and in the Valley, everyone seemed quite dressed up for a steak house.

This famous steak house opened its doors in the exclusive HQ complex on Wickham Street last week and my friends and I were amongst their first customers. What a disappointment! Firstly, we had booked a private room for seven people. We had been seated about ten minutes when the waitress asked if we would mind moving to another table as they had just received a big group. Fair enough, the private room was big enough to hold twenty people so we were wasting the space. The waitress promised us a free round of drinks for our inconvenience — and twenty minutes later it hadn’t arrived. We sent down a scout to locate a waiter who then assured us he was bringing the drinks. 20 minutes later, they still hadn’t arrived. We sent a second scout down — mission unsuccessful. We gave up on the drinks and just prayed for our food to arrive. It was a busy evening but the food took about an hour from the time we placed the order. What was worse, the waiter had no idea which steaks were rare, medium or well done and got the accompanying sauces mixed up as well. Even though the steaks were good though lacking in fries, we were so cranky and hungry by this time, we didn’t enjoy our meals. Finally just as we decided to call an end to a disastrous night, the free drinks arrived! To make amends, the manager also gave us a discount on our bill. I have since found out Ribs and Rump is actually an international chain and this was the flagship restaurant for Brisbane. I was surprised to hear this as chain restaurants while lacking in originality are usually consistently organised. I suppose Ribs and Rump Brisbane could just be ironing out a few bumps but I won’t be hurrying back here anytime soon.
