When I want to be in the throng of the action but not so into it that I’m looking for a big night out, I know Asian Fusion is the place to deliver the goods. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer to sample their eclectic goodness but trust me, it’s worth it. Here — and I’m not kidding — I’ve had the very best spring rolls I’ve ever tasted in both carnivore and vegetarian varieties. And normally you think Asian food specialists can serve some equally disgusting and equally amazing fried dish without any hiccups right? Nah, I’ve had some pretty negative experiences with chicken in particular, so I wasn’t sure what to expect of Asian Fusion’s take on chicken. I did prove to be a Doubting Thomas however, and had too take back any cynicism I had because here, chicken is delicious and cooked really well. Not only that, their stir fry dishes and even calamari are served fresh and taste wonderful. Asian Fusion combines the very best choices of Asian food and never disappoints. The prices are really competitive and such great value. Being in the heart of the Valley, it’s also an excellent dinner venue whether you just want a nice meal or you want to kick on afterwards.

Asian Fusion presents itself as a modern take on Asian food, encompassing numerous regions of Asia, from Mongolian, Chinese food to Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese. For some dishes it works particularly well, like the Peking duck, but for some other dishes it doesn’t work as well. The service is pretty good, though sometimes the authenticity of the restaurant can create some clumsy communication problems, but it’s what you’d expect from a reasonably genuine Asian restaurant. The price is very reasonable too, and competitive with the Asian restaurants around the Valley, that have the same quality. The big draw card for me is the atmosphere — like King of Kings, this place hosts the odd birthday party and quite often the lights will go off and this ridiculous music starts playing. Everyone seems to clap and it’s a lot of fun.

Asian Fusion is so delicious. I just love the Mongolian tofu which comes to your table on a sizzling hot rock and fills the restaurant with the most amazing smell! Thick pieces of fried bean curd are smothered in a mouth-watering rich Mongolian sauce and served with steaming hot jasmine rice. I take my family to Asian fusion at least once a month. Although it is quite small, during lunch hours it is a very family friendly restaurant. The little Asian lady that runs the restaurant is an absolute gem! She fusses over my six year old daughter(Eliana), sitting at the table with her giving her chopstick lessons! Every time we visit now one of the staff makes Eliana a pair of chopsticks held together with cardboard and a rubber band — this makes it so much easier for her to use them and she just loves all of the attention. Asian Fusion is an affordable restaurant with friendly staff and yummy food. It is located on the intersection of Wickham and Gipps Streets in the Valley, you can’t miss it!
