Crisp is a perfect example of a store that actually cares about their pizzas. Crisp tastes good, and I mean, really, really good! They source freshly cut Queensland pineapples from farmers and use 100% Australian leg ham which they shave daily. They make their own dough(organic flour) and sauces(that’s their secret that sauce is made from magic, 100% Australian owned magic!). They even slow roast their own meats and vegies in the morning. The Leg Ham gourmet meat pizza is fabulous! Move over Capricciosa, this tomato, mozzarella, leg ham, mushroom, spanish onion, bocconcini cheese, and roasted capsicum filled wonderland is so special, it’s satisfying. I love how thin the base is and absolutely adore how they have managed to work out the right amount of toppings where other places have trouble working on this complex formula and cut corners on the main part. Thank you Crisp for understanding, gourmet doesn’t mean less! The other pizza I have tried is the Spicy Chipotle Chicken gourmet pizza. If you love chicken, then this pizza is mandatory. Absolutely compulsory to try! It features tomato, mozzarella, roast chicken, crispy chorizo(wow, cooked to perfection), and onion and finished with a homemade chipotle sauce. Now, this chipotle sauce is the bomb, my eyes were wide open when I first tasted this pizza and it was like I found the next best thing. It is the best chicken pizza I have ever tried. Yes, it’s that good! The price is right for what you get and they deliver promptly. Next time you have pizza; there is no reason why you won’t go here first. I wish there was more Crisp around Melbourne.

Crisp pizza is a solid local favorite on racecourse road. Lots of interesting combinations, with quality ingredients on a consistently good base. Ingredients are prepped on site and I have witnessed staff going to the extra effort of roasting pine nuts and peanuts before the start of a busy Saturday shift. Service is always friendly and prompt. The staff are great with my hyper 2yo, and have even walked a pizza the 150ish meters to my house, when I was stuck at home on a wet night with a sick child. There are other pizza stores in the area, but I believe crisp is the most consistent and best quality.

I don’t usually think much of ‘non wood fired pizza’ but It really doesn’t matter here. I’m a fan here, fresh hearty toppings, my fav so far is the very tasty Americana, they do a nice twist on this classic.

Hmm… The Crisp Pizza logo looks suspiciously like Crust Pizza’s, and a lot of the menu items are remarkably similar… But, thankfully, Crisp Pizza in Flemington isn’t simply a poor rip-off of the better known Crust. Crisp do a really high quality pizza — they slow-roast their meat and vegetables in house daily, and the flour in the base is organic. This makes for a whole lot of taste. There are a few truly unique pizzas at Crisp that I’ve not seen anywhere else, like Spicy Baked Feta, Spinach and Haloumi, Peking Duck and Korma Chicken. I haven’t tried all these flavours, because I love the La Paella so much I keep ordering it — it’s like a Spanish paella whacked on a pizza, with prawns, paprika, chorizo, red onion, peas, capsicum and mozzarella. Bizzare but so good! Delivery time is reasonable(usually about 45 minutes) and they’ve also got a range of pastas, salads and desserts for those freaks who don’t like pizza.
