See! You don’t need to head to Italy to get good Italian food. In fact you don’t even need to go to Lygon street, you can just head to a quiet corner on Nicholson street and indulge in some classic family-style food. The Italian Corner doesn’t muck around when it comes to pizza. They have a traditional woodfire oven(one of the biggest I have ever seen) that gives that incredible smokey flavour that you can’t get from just any ol’ pizza joint. Of course they have all your other favourites too! Pastas, steaks and, well, everything with carbohydrates. They also have a full bar and wine list available so you can have the perfect beverage to complement your meal. The staff are great. They were very attentive to us and we never had to ask for anything, my glass was always full of red wine — that’s a bloody good sign in my books. They also hold regular Italian festivals for their regulars where you can indulge in the best Italian regional specialties. A great little place that is worth travelling to get to. You just can’t beat a woodfired pizza.
