We loved the idea of the owner being a nutritionist and appreciated the fact that you do not need a large portion to satiate your sweet tooth. With that being said, if you are going to charge a premium for small cupcakes then they have to be amazing. This place is visually cute and has potential. But, the cupcakes were over priced and not good. We bought 4 different cupcakes all except one were dry and none of them were great. This was a cupcake coup d’état! Hope this helps. Cheers!

Fitzroy is cute but I would not come here again. Staff is nice, but I got a vegan pb&j cupcake and only took one bite before I gave up and threw it out. Was not good.

Cute little store, perfect to stop in with a toddler. Cupcakes are vegan & super yummy. Nice coffee too. The girl behind the counter was sweet & very helpful. A good way to break up a mornings walk on Brunswick Street

Where do I begin? Do you feel like delicious vegan cupcakes? Yes please! I was in Melbourne for the weekend and felt my sweet tooth tingling so I ventured here after a lunch with friends and I was so glad I discovered it. Not only are all cupcakes vegan — they even have gluten-free ones(for us non-gluten inclined). They had a range of different flavours and(don’t judge) I took a box home — I just had to try as many as possible. If you also need something sweet on the cheap, they have ‘yesterday’s cupcakes’ on the bottom shelf for about $ 2. Such a bargain. The staff are super friendly — so that’s an added bonus!

Very cute little café with a nice variety if cupcakes. There are interesting flavors in there: avocado/chocolate, Earl grey/vanilla, kiwi/cream cheese etc. There is a cheerful vibe inside thanks to three very friendly and welcoming ladies working there. Cute café to stop by for a quick bite or a long chat with a friend.

Healthy cupcakes! An oxymoron made real. I was pleasantly surprised to meet vegan cupcakes without the dense mash that characterizes other vegan«desserts». Merry cupcakes manage to preserve the fluffiness of non-vegan cupcakes despite being more moist. The cupcakes need to be sweet to offset the bitter customer service… Merry Cupcakes tries to incorporate real fruits and vegetables wherever possible, such as avocado in their chocolate frosting. They reduced the amount of sugar to prevent the sugar high and subsequent crash yet left just enough sugar to make it as sweet as normal cupcakes. I had 3 large and 1 mini cupcakes in one sitting without slipping into a food coma(reactive hypoglycemia). Lemon vanilla, beetroot devil’s food, sticky date and chocolate avocado were equally delicious. They also make gluten-free cupcakes on Fridays and Saturdays, though I haven’t tried one yet. Minus two stars for the grouchy service by the ladies at the counter who would rather surf the web and chat with each other than answer a customer’s questions about their product. I would have bought more cupcakes had they not soured my experience. They ignored me even though I was the only customer in the store(and I didn’t even look or smell like a bum). How awkward! When I finally got their attention, they displayed zero enthusiasm for the cupcakes, supplying only curt replies with thinly veiled exasperation. The«merry» in Merry Cupcakes did not apply to them. Sorry, little miss muffets, but you need to get those tuffets out of your arses and actually do some work. Better yet, get out of customer service altogether, because it’s certainly not where ice queens belong. Thankfully, I later found a little FAQ flyer near the register and some more info online that gave me more useful tidbits about the bakery, its history and its process.

I love these cupcakes! MC have created a really great range, and they are all tasty and moist with many innovative flavor combinations. These are not just your average cupcake or even average vegan cupcake! The owners, Mary and Matthias, are really sweet and friendly too. Beet It and Carrot Top are particular favourites but I’d be happy to receive any of their awesome flavours! Hint hint.

I think it’s a great idea to have an entire store dedicated to cupcakes. Who doesn’t love a cupcake? My favorite thing is you don’t have to buy one cupcake. If you’re like me, you want to try EVERYTHING. I bought a few of their little cupcakes, which come in more traditional flavors like chocolate, strawberry, etc. But for the more adventurous people, you can try something like chocolate avocado or coconut. I can’t actually remember the different flavors, but there are many to choose from. The best part, the cupcakes are healthier versions of the normal cupcakes and they’re tasty. Guilt free cupcake? Why not.
