Manny’s is a very good musical instrument shop — I bought a guitar here and I was thoroughly impressed with the service level and knowledge of the instrument I was buying by the staff who served me. They gave me plenty of time to try the guitar out and didn’t pressure me in any way. They have a very good range of gear, so if you are looking for something e.g. guitar, amp, keyboard, drums etc I would suggest giving Manny’s a try.

I didn’t end up buying my first acoustic here, but I did end up visiting Manny’s a few times in my quest. There’s a glassed in room full of lovely guitars you’re welcome to take down and play, and they’ll help you out with a refreshing lack of patronage and wankery. Once they see you hemming and hawing they’ll leave you to noodle around on your own with trembling fingers. I’d say it’s a pretty small but very good range of stock — from Seagulls to Recording Kings to Eastmans. The prices and sounds were OK to my untrained ear. They also have a few more specialty items such as ukuleles and cigar box guitars — so much fun!

I ain’t no musician but Manny’s is where my musician mates go for their musical needs. Apparently they get pretty amazing service there from a bunch of music nerds that know exactly what the hell they’re talking about. My problem with Manny’s stems from the lack of grammatical correctness of their signage. Sure, they have an awesome guitar sign strung up outside of the place but the pure fact they call it Mannys and not Manny’s I find confusing. I know, I know, I ain’t perfect neither, but possessive use is one aspect of grammar that I am well across so I feel it necessary to bleat and moan at and about any fool that don’t get it. Do they refer to multiple or many Mannys(boom boom) in this instance, or is/was the store in the possession of some bloke/sheila named Manny. I’m guessing the latter and I’ll tell you right now: if a mystery apostrophe appears on the guitar sign, it wasn’t me OK.
