Mountain Fresh Fruit & Vegetables

This store has now closed down — sadly, which means Mountain Gate has not only lost a butchers but now a green grocers.
I guess it’s just too tough competing with Coles and Woolworths.
Best place to go for fresh fruit and vegetables if not a local farmer’s market or the Caribbean Gardens is Knox City in the centre near Boost Juice and Liqourland.

Mountain Gate Fresh Fruit and Veg is definitely one of my favourite fruit and veg stores. This is because it only stocks the essentials and not all sorts of different varieties and obscure fruits like some fruit shops. I don’t buy fruit and veggies very often so when I do I like to keep it simple and not be confused by ten different varieties of apple. That might sound ridiculous to you, but it drives me insane. I don’t need one of each I just need a normal apple.
The shop itself is laid out in a U shape and they only stock the basics with maybe an occasional obscure fruit thrown in. This is good for me as I can learn what it is without being bamboozled by the ten others like it. One lap of the store and you are done and can leave after paying at the counter.
The service here is super friendly and the vibe is relaxed. For those who love getting apples that grew in a field next to daffodils as well as apples that grew up listening to Mozart, Coles is just outside Mountain Fresh so you satisfy your cravings for all the weird varieties there.
I know I’ll be steering clear of Coles and visiting Mountain Fresh because they keep it simple and that is all fruit and veg shopping needs to be. Perfect.
