We hadn’t been to the EH for some time as in the past the food and service in our view was poor, however as it is quite local for us we thought we would give it another go. We went to the restaurant upstairs on a Saturday night, they were very busy. Staff were polite, special mention to «Allie» on the bar, she was a shining light. The food arrived reasonably quickly considering how busy it was, we had stuffed mushrooms and Lamb pie, both meals were good and service to the table was good. Probably my only criticism is that we were going to order a waigo burger which was listed in the menu that was handed to me, but after lining up to order the meal, the girl pointed out that they don’t serve it after 3pm. I then had to return to ask my wife what she wanted instead and then line up again and the line had grown substantially. The menu was marked with a small notation down near the bottom of the page, it was annoying to have to line up again in the growing queue. The staff/manager should have removed it from their menu list completely(it is a clip in type menu so it could have easily been done) or pointed it out to us when we first entered, if not for that we would have given a higher rating.

Worst experience here! Its a lovely hotel just a shame that patrons are a disappointment. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I always here bad stories about fights and people being silly.

Please remember to grab your table number before you order, otherwise you are in for a walk back to the table! After a walk and being told that the images in the menu aren’t like the food being served, I was sure we were in for a shocker. Luckily the pulled pork burger was a cracker, with bags of flavour and tender pork. The side of fries were also cooked well, with an accompanying crunch. Overall a solid meal with a few detractions. Please do not refrigerate Chardonnay at such cold temp! Food 7.5÷10 service 6.5÷10 décor 8⁄10

Went tonight for dinner with my mum. Sat by the fireplace for a wine before dinner, which was nice! Ordered the Rib steak + chips and coleslaw(each of which was massive serving) and the stuffed field mushrooms for us both to share. All components were delicious and we are full. We had an entertainment book voucher so fantastic value. Just see staff at the bar first if you have a voucher. Polite quick service also

I’ve eaten some blan chicken parmi in the past! But the EH was the worst one I’ve eaten in QLD crumbed chocked slapped with a piece of ham & a shit load of tomato sauce & a little bit of cheese. The customer service was less then average which was unfortunate. Would I eat here again possibly not! Over priced & noisy!

Nice enough venue for a drink. Pretty sure I got food poisoning there so don’t think I’ll risk a return visit to the restaurant.

The EH as it is affectionately known has become the new ‘local’ for lots of people in this area of Brisbane. The north side was lacking a major centre like this for a long time. It caters for everyone with a large outdoor area with a big screen, massive bar, TAB and then a restaurant with a dedicated kids room. Friday and Saturday nights the bar area turns into somewhat of a Night Club and it can get very busy! I think they are still working out some kinks in the restaurant area and have had a few mix ups the times I have been there but the food is good. I wouldn’t say its the best pub /restaurant food but its not far off. Personally I’d love to see the Steak Sandwich on the dinner menu! The outdoor areas are awesome! The big screen area is perfect for watching Sport on a Sunday arvo. The whole centre is built around a magnificent tree and there are verandas situated so you can basically sit right under it. All in all its a great place and will only get better with time!

This groovy new hotel on Brisbane’s Northside is becoming a very popular hotspot with the younger crowd. It recently won an award for the ‘Best Overall Hotel in Queensland — 2011′. On Friday and Saturday nights the place goes off with live DJs and hundreds of people getting their funk on(me included!). The beer garden has quite a relaxed atmosphere — especially late in the afternoon, on weekends there is usually someone playing live acoustic guitar. There are 9 bars in total including a rooftop bar which is really cool. The hotel is also one of Brisbane’s new live music venues. I recently saw Pete Murray here in the Grand Ballroom(he was sensational — so very sexy!!) which is just beautiful — very similar to the Tivoli Theatre. Good Charlotte also played a gig in October and I believe Jimmy Barnes is scheduled in late January. The food in the bistro is good(the chicken schnitzel is a MONSTER) — I have heard that they do a killer breakfast on Sunday mornings. The décor is stunning. Earthy tones, natural timber and loads of natural light. I think what I love most about this place though is its green star rating — I am stoked that so many new businesses are making the move towards environmental sustainability.
