Ohhhh, dat burger. The Big Boppa is modelled on a milk bar version of the Big Mac, which is to say there’s some kind of orange special sauce on it and the pickles are delicious. On the whole it’s a juicy two-handed face filler that you’ll be dreaming about for days. Melted cheese, big ol’ patty, just the right type of bun. Nice chips that come with it, too. Despite the place only being half full there was a pretty decent wait to place an order and again for the food, but the blonde waitress was mega friendly which is always a big plus. I wanted an outside table but some people way cooler than me beat me to it and they were so cool I couldn’t even begrudge them that, I just sat back eating my rock salted chips admiring them from afar.

Cool & hip, great place. If you’ve never had anything but KFC, wait til you try the fried chicken here, spectacular! We had a number of plates to share and this was encouraged. Great, friendly service. Great fries. Nice winelist too. I’ll be back!

This is the latest Icon Park popup venture on Stanley Street, replacing Stanley Street merchants. It’s a fusion of Fat Rupert’s out in Bondi and their BBQ popup Rudy’s and the love child they’ve created is damn near close to perfection– great vibe, great cocktails and great food. They’re open all day so you could theoretically stop in for breakfast for chicken and waffles, move on to one of their legendary burgers for lunch and finish with a steak for dinner. Expect upscale American-style comfort food and a funky vibe(the upstairs is covered in astroturf!). They’re only opened through the end of the year so get in quick!
