I keep saying I’ll give it another chance, but enough is enough, everytime we seem to go we always get the worst service, it’s very slow and unresponsive, we have to sit and wait for ages to order and get what we want, the last time we went there we ordered, the menu had changed there wasn’t too much I liked on there anymore but that isn’t the reason it lost some stars because the menu is about personal preference, after we ordered, I got the steak sandwich, I noticed it was ready and was just sitting there for a good 10 minutes after it was done, my girlfriends food wasn’t ready at the same time neither were my chips and by the time I got my sandwich it was warm it wasn’t even hot anymore, bitterly disappointed because it tasted pretty good, the price is average like the service, doubt we’ll be coming back anymore

Went there for dinner on a saturday and was very happy with the experience, the atmosphere was buzzing and the layout was good and the floor staff took care of us quickly. being able to see the kitchen it gave the place a little extra edge. Most importantly however was the food, perfectly portioned and tasty, would definately eat there again.

I love this relaxed laid back yet attentive to detail restaurant. Except for one detail and I may as well get that off my chest. half of the restaurant has horribly uncomfortable seats that have no support with their pokey red metal jamming into your spine. Making your eyes water! Ok I feel better now. If the fish of the day is announced to be Cone Bay Barramundi as it was tonight, get it! I’m not a huge fan of the pub barra because of its lack of taste. But this barramundi is divine. Ocean raised in sea pens in the Kimberley where the tide is constantly moving means the fish has evenly displaced fat instead of the barra raised in rivers or tanks where they aren’t moving. Plus it’s a sustainable fish to eat. The chef at basq cooked it to perfection, super crispy skin and absolutely tender delicate flesh. With actual flavour!!! Served on a bed of mash dill potatoes and leek and celery sauce. An absolute pleasure of a meal. The staff are excellent and go out of their way for you. Reasonable prices. Well worth giving this one a go!

Today I ducked into Basq for a quick bite before a movie and I wasn’t disappointed. My dates and I decided to go small taste plates instead of meals. We had the pork belly and scallops which was amazing but there was only two pieces of scallops to three pieces of pork belly. In saying that though it was delicious. We had the chicken liver pâté which was to die for. As freshly made pâté goes this was one of the best. And finally we had a charcuterie board which was made up of chorizo, terraine, cold meats and pickled vegetables. This was surprisingly big and filled all three of us up. Definitely recommend coming here for a bite. The décor is also contemporary and had a cool feel about it.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere at Basq, their pork belly was beautiful and it just melted in your mouth. My boyfriend and I shared it as an entrée and were left wanting more. I had the gnocchi for main and he had the pasta of the day. We would definitely recommend this place, the staff were lovely and we will definitely be returning!

It was certainly a case of «The Hunger Games» when we tried the new Spanish Style restaurant in Currambine — next to Grand Cinemas. First was a movie and then(though we had stuffed ourselves with popcorn) we went for some drinks and food to share at Basq. We really enjoyed the ambiance. It’s a very airy place, with huge open windows. Basq is the kind of restaurant that you’d usually only find in the inner suburbs of Perth or Fremantle. I liked the rustic vibe and it matched the tapas menu perfectly. We shared a few dishes. We really enjoyed the Lemon Pepper & paprika fried squid which was perfectly cooked and the croquettes were delicious. Coconut panna cotta, black olive caramel & chocolate granita — This dessert really intrigued all of us, given the use of black olives. Presented in a glass, this was a good-looking dessert. We all agreed that the flavour of the olive(though pleasant) was so strong against the coconut panna cotta. The service was very friendly and though I think they were probably towards the end of service when we arrived, they warmly welcomed us. Chef Neil Herbert, formally of Bistro Felix(Subiaco), is certainly on the right track. It’s a welcome addition to the dining scene in the Joondalup area. We’ll most definitely be back!

Meh. That was my overall view of our diner at Basq. The location is great if you live quite NOR and the place was packed which added to the vibey ambience. Friendly staff and a manager who looked a little stressed but still took the time to pop by tables to greet guests, was a welcomed touch. Meals are averagely priced for an upmarket restaurant — ranging from plus minus $ 25 to $ 45 for a main. It has the foundation to become a great little restaurant but has some teething problems. We had the paella to share and found that our share portion was just slightly larger than a single portion though it’s almost double the price. The food was good but not authentic Spanish flavours. Dessert was mediocre at best — the coconut pannacotta with black olive, chocolate granita and popping candy sounded exotic and was well presented but too little black olive and granita let the dish down. Friends that had the churros and chocolate cake were also disappointed at the averageness of the serve. The coffee was probably the worst I’ve tasted. Sadly, no one asked us why our dessert and coffee was left barely touched. I’m not sure if I would go back. The menu of tapas dishes looked very interesting. The place has only been open for a week, so I’d probably let them settle in before visiting again.
