Great chilled vibe. I’ve only had the cheeseburger(4 times) and it’s nice. The chips with cheese & gravy are addictive — be warned

Not really a fan of burgers but this place serves up great quality ones. I had the pork burger which had chunks of crackling in it. Delicious. Good casual dining.

I’ve tried this place a couple of times for their namesake burgers, and on both occasions haven’t been blown away. Don’t get me wrong, the burgers are decent, they just aren’t my favourite in town. I’ve tried the cheeseburger and the crispy chicken and both were solid, but nothing special. They have lots of different options from beef to chicken to vego and even a weekly«game» burger special(the most recent of which was buffalo). There’s also lots of beer options(duh, given the name of the joint) and sides including fries, loaded fries, onion rings(super yummy) and eggplant fries. It’s hard to get a spot to sit on busy weekend evenings, especially when the football is on, but they offer takeaway if you live nearby.

The beers here are better than the burgers. just saying. tried the beef burger and added egg as it seems the most popular. nothing special. only difference from a decent chippery is the brioche.

I should preface this by saying that I’m probably out of step with most people I’ve gone with, who generally love the burgers. Admittedly, I don’t mind the burgers. I’d even say they are good. However, I find the staff a bit stuck up, the décor a bit tacky. Maybe I’ve just chanced upon bad times, but I’ve always found it a full and(crazy) noisy. Footy crowds, even when the footy isn’t on. You can sit outside, but it’s right on the Lennox St intersection, so it’s not relaxing. If you’re hungover, the suns out and you just *need* a burger — I imagine this place is perfect. They do have a great beer and burger special. $ 15 for a burger and a(decent) beer. Not bad.

I have been eyeing this place ever since it opened. I had the opportunity just before the footy to see if it was a worthy place to become a regular at. It was quite full and loud, mostly because of the football being about 20 minutes walk from the venue, so the crowd had the same idea as I had to grab a bite to eat before the game. However, the crowd was well behaved and were generally well-dressed, the environment was friendly, comfy and inviting. The staff are attentive and service standards were reasonable. The table I sat on was communal, but you have enough space to call it your own. The table has knives, forks and napkins at your disposal. I ordered the Beef Burger and a side of chips. I wasn’t expecting much, I just wanted the burger to be tasty and to my surprise, it was delicious. The interesting mix of beetroot relish, gruyère cheese and American mustard was a perfect combo. The presentation was pleasing and my first bite was nothing short of sedating. The chips were great as well. In terms of price, the burger was $ 12 and chips were $ 3.50, and I have had much worse at those prices and for what you get, it seems like they have got the price right. What I enjoyed most about the meal was that it satisfied. I was full, not the type of full where you feel lousy, but the ‘feel good’ type. If that makes sense, I’m sure Unilocalers would understand. You can even watch the burgers being prepared and you can see the effort and amount of care in how the burgers are cooked. It’s a nice touch. I want to try everything on the menu, but the Beef Burger is so good, I’m not sure if I can deviate to other options. I will, but the choice is hard and that’s a huge credit to this establishment. Overall, I had to give The Beer & Burger Bar high praise as it ticked every box I would have expected. When I enter a place and come out feeling satisfied that I spent money on a great experience and amazing taste, you will come back every time.

One of the only places around Richmond we could find which sells late night coffees. The staff were super friendly, coffees were great and the food looked good too. We stayed later than closing and the staff didn’t kick us out. Will go back when in the local area for sure.

That is a tasty burger. a little more pricy than others but great variety and quality. Not a fast food joint, burgers are constructed with all the love and care in the world.
