If you are nearby you need to visit here. It is free to enter. They have stunning exhibits and you could easily spend a full day here. We came on the off chance as we noticed a brown sign on the freeway. With big information signs outside we were learning before we entered. The Australian desert garden is gorgeous. There is an awesome play area for the kidlets and even an area to wade in the water which our little one loved. A hidden treasure that everyone needs to visit!

This garden is so worth a visit, I was impressed, it was a bit of a drive but was so worth it to see a bandicoot which at first I thought was a rat missing his tail. My mistake :0 there is a café where you can purchase some fine food and chill overlooking the Australian desert garden though a bit pricy for a café but friendly staff and go on a cool day as you will see wildlife.

The Australian sister to the city based Royal Botanic Gardens. There are some stunning vistas that will no doubt thrill keen photographers and gardeners alike. The commonly known red garden has now been joined by stage 2 of this native attraction with a focus on more greenery, rivers and modern structures in harmony with the landscape. It really is impressive. The drive into the gardens has a very long drive way, so be patient as you will need to travel slowly due to the chance of native animals crossing the road. Once inside the parking is free as is admission to the gardens. The facilities are very new and clean and there are 2 opportunities to eat at either the main café at the entrance or a smaller café at the back of the new gardens. There is also a quality gift shop at the entrance. Worth a visit if you are in the vicinity or feel like a lovely day trip. You can bring the kids but your pooch needs to stay at home due to the native animals.
