We popped in here as a business lunch meeting point. Quite a warm day outside, and although there is air con it doesn’t reach all areas … so choose your seating point around the air con. Came in about 1.30 and most tables were dirty, stayed for over an hour and they didn’t clean any of the tables in that time, group of 3 had to sit at a table for 10, I hate doing that! Other people coming in after us were struggling to find a clean place to sit. Drinks were lovely, and came out quick, food looked good, lots of specials, lunch and dinners for $ 15. Next time we come back we will try the food. Staff were all very friendly.

St Patricks Day 2012 — my girlfriends and I booked a table of 12 at the restaurant. The Albion had promoted a special for St Pats Day, a Guinness pie and beer for $ 20. When we went to order at 7:30pm there were no specials left. Fine, so we happily ordered other meals and went about drinking and chatting. From previous experience at the Albion, food was always served within 20 minutes and good quality. Over one and a half hours later we still had no food(9pm). We spoke to the manager a number of times who got increasingly agitated that his staff were not able to cope with the numbers(even though there were empty tables!). At 9:30pm the Manager told us that his staff were all lazy and incompetent and he gave us our money back. This one experience has put me off going back ever again. I liked the day when you cooked your own steak there!

Albion is a classic neighbourhood pub that offers everything you could want from it: cold cheap beers, great food, terrific atmosphere and the décor that makes it unique. You can sit in the train carriage that rests in the top section of the dining room as you chow down on your hand picked steak that gets cooked right in front of you, its pretty cool. There’s an extensive menu of food other than steaks too and all the items that i have had taste epic. There’s big screens that show all the big games and fights and Wednesday night is trivia which always packs out

The Albion portrays the essence of Australian sports culture and it’s complete obsession with it. It appears that regulars to the Albion know when there’s an important sporting fixture on and come in their droves. I made the mistake initially of coming for a couple of drinks on a normal Sunday. Apparently this wasn’t a big sporting day and as a result there was only a handful of people in this large bar. There is plenty of character in this bar with wooden floors and tables and plenty of pictures on the wall. Food-wise you can order a steak and cook it yourself on the communal grill or if you rpefer a chef to cook your food, there is an extensive comfort-food menu that includes pizzas, pastas, sausages and mash and risotto. Keep an eye on their website as they often have lunch and dinner offers.
