Atomosphere good, food poor. It’s a great location, music was good, looked like the bar staff knew their cocktails, but the food was terrible. I’ve eaten their before and I thought it was better. I peeked into the kitchen when I was at the bar and could see the staff just throwing bits and pieces together, not the care the enthusiasm you’d expect.

Solid pizza. Gourmet style. Could use an upgrade on the chorizo but otherwise very solid. Even the veggie options are great.

Trying to find a place around Coogee Beach on the 1st of January was quite a challenge. We were actually looking for breakfast at 11.30am but after strolling around we realised that’s not going to happen! :) Most of the cafes were packed with people and the queues were endless, a lot of cafes had their well earned holidays. so we ended up in Ocean’s bar. By then it was lunchtime and we decided to have a snack. The atmosphere is okay. The interior is ‘stylish’ and modern with heaps of sofas and couches on the left side to make it a bit more comfy. I had the steamed dim sums(served with chili soy sauce), which were actually quite nice and I had the stuffed mushrooms(filled with pesto, pine nuts, feta) on a rocket salad and balsamic dressing. The food was good, but I didn’t like that there was no table service. Ocean’s bar is in my opinion a place for a quick snack or drink, but nothing where you could relax and hang out for hours.

I am sorry but this place is just crappy It has such a great location, why did they have to make it an uncomfortable, stark monstrosity that only tourists go to? Seriously, it could have been a great bar, practically on the beach with an incredible view but they boarded it all up and make it into a tacky club. Nothing enticing about it, in fact quite the opposite. Gross.
