If it wasn’t for the friendly waitress this would have been really bad. Is that real potato in the mash? Tasted weird. I got the barramundi. It was pretty average. Wish I stayed home for lunch.

This place is definitely dirt cheap. Don’t know how well the food is settling, but it definitely worth it because it’s so cheap. Although the beer costs a fortune. maybe drink before you go to the restaurant. that when you can just eat cheap!

we were working at a conference up the street for 8 days. we ate here every day. that should say something. if you are from USA like us, you will think this place is expensive(each plate at min is $ 8-$ 14 not including drinks), but for Coogee Beach and Australia in general, this is dirt cheap. We found every dish to be cooked perfectly. it’s not gourmet, but they do a killer steak w/chips(fries), also a lovely chicken parm as well as fish and chips. comfort pub food done right. a couple things i thought were weird– they go extremely light on the sauces and ketchup. they give you a little dallop on your plate of tarter etc, and ketchup comes from little packets that you have to ask for at the bar. yo, i’m american, i like to bathe in ketchup. also we literally wiped down our tables each night ourselves because they were sticky. sometimes that didn’t even help. so this place is like a step up from a dive bar for sure, but we enjoyed ourselves every night. i would highly recommend it if you’re trying not to break the bank.

If you are after the cheapest meal in Sydney, Five O’s is for you. It was one of the first places I went to when I moved here, however I can’t say I have been back there much. It is not because it was not satisfactory, it is just not the usual option for me. If you are a backpacker or just after a sufficient cheap meal then by all means, try it out. I just get a bit worried about the produce and where they are getting it from to be able to charge these prices. The views great and atmos, cheery. Give it a go at least once.

Five-O’s is cheap. Five-O’s is opposite the beach. Five-O’s is cheap. If you need more detailed reasons to go to Five O’s they are as follows: Standing above the Coogee Beach carpark, it’s a great stop for a post-beach beverage on your way to the car(not encouraging drink driving here). Also, it’s great for a post-beach schnitzel and for only $ 5(with a drink purchase), there’s absolutely no reason not to. Even if you’ve already eaten you can’t pass up a bargain like that. You just can’t. The steak is only $ 5, as are a couple of other options, and the rest of their menu is still pretty cheap(including salt & pepper squid, fish and chips, sirloin, parmigiana, vege lasgagne, grilled fish, etc etc). It’s true and tasty pub-gub with a beach-view balcony. No, the staff might not be the friendliest you’ve ever come across, but it doesn’t really matter. Five-O’s is opposite the beach and it’s cheap. And you can pretty safely say that they’re never going to lose those $ 5 meals — it’s not worth changing your name over.

I just went to Five O’s bar & grill and had Bangers and Mash, which is the sort of meal I usually never order, but it was just what I felt like, I suppose it is comfort food. It was really delicious, the Mash was creamy and fresh and the sausages were excellent, they weren’t the cheap nasty supermarket sausages, but were high quality beef and were very tasty. For a meal costing less than $ 10, I certainly cannot complain. The meal made the perfect follow up to a few drinks and the right preparation for a few more.
