Centre for Animal Referral and Emergency (CARE) in Collingwood, Melbourne, is a 24-​hour Vet Emergency Hospital and Specialist Centre. We have vets on duty around the clock to attend to your pet who may have become suddenly ill or injured. Our team of specialist veterinarians including Dr. Merrin Hicks, Dr Guy Yates and Dr. Sophie Haynes also take referrals during the day. We provide 24-​hour intensive care, advanced surgery including orthopedics and ‘keyhole’ surgery, ultrasound, digital XRays, and have a full on-​site laboratory. History

Established in 2013.

Our principle veterinarians, Dr. Merrin Hicks and Dr. Guy Yates have over 10 years experience in Melbourne in their respective specialties. Having worked together in various capacities including at the University of Melbourne– Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Hicks and Dr. Yates began working on the concept of C.A.R.E several years ago. After many hours of planning and preparation, buidling, and souring the best equipment and staff available, we are set to open our doors for business in May 2013.

Dr Hicks BVSc (hons) MVSc FANZCVS is a veterinarian with over 10 years experience, and is a specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. C.A.R.E. is also owned by Dr. Guy Yates, BVSc (hons) MVSc FANZCVS, a specialist small animal surgeon. Together, Dr Hicks and Dr Yates lead a team of highly trained specialist veterinarians and emergency veterinarians at C.A.R.E, providing the best care available for your pet when needed.
