argentinian beer — quilmes, can’t go wrong if you want a light chick beer ;) we were there pretty late, but the bar staff were still attentive and let us know we could hang out until they had to close. hot tip: had to go through Huxtaburger to get in, sometimes worth asking if the staff there if Bill’s Bar front door is shut… xo U.

We were spoilt. My friend hired our Bill’s bar for his dirty 30 birthday bash. A facebook message was send around saying that there was going to be plenty of food there and come hungry. What a blessing I saw that message because HOLYSMOKEBALLSBATMAN, Sliders! Pork buns! Prawn buns! Rice Paper Rolls! More Sliders! Artery clogging deliciousness. Add table service, with a mighty fine priced bar($ 9 gin and grapefruit — come to mama) and it was one mighty fine night out. YES. MOAAARRRRR Please

I love a good speakeasy and this one is awesome because very few people even speak of it! On a visit to Huxtaburger, a friend of mine was curious as to all these random people walking through what we thought was the«staff» door. When we asked one of the Huxtaburger staff they told us it was actually a bar. My first five star review and simply because the service is amazing. Drinks are easy to understand and have a set price of $ 9 per shot. Great place to relax with friends after a cheeky night out, and especially with that Huxtaburger place next door means you can have the best of both worlds.

Great place to bring visitors from out of town to immediately increase your perceived coolness. The secret door shenanigans are a fun touch and the place itself is great too. The drinks are varied and well made, the atmosphere relaxed with a good wait staff — highly recommended. Try the Moscow Mule, you won’t be disappointed.

Two words: Mini pulled pork bun. Okay, so that’s more than two. But after you’ve had the pleasure of venturing in to this secret spot for one of these bad boys you won’t be worrying about maths. Trust me, they’re that good. Throw in $ 9 spirits, effervescent service, awesome retro design and one of the nicest wine racks I’ve seen in some time and you’re in for a crackin’ good time.

I heard a bar had opened next door to Huxtaburger. I tried to get in through the front and found it was securely locked. I could see the candles and there was definitely someone walking around, but I couldn’t get in! Problem solved. I asked one of the workers at Huxtaburger and she informed me that the silver wall at the end of the kitchen was the door to get in. I felt slightly ‘too cool’ when I walked in and opened this oh so secret door. Enter. Bill’s Bar. I loved that our server was one of the Huxtable’s server. Their servers are fantastic. I have nothing but praise for them. The aim was for a speakeasy vibe from the American prohibition era. Don’t know my prohibition history well, but it was quite a classy place. I ordered the day’s special: Hemingway’s Death in the Afternoon = champagne with absinthe. Surprisingly delicious. I have a new found respect for Hemingway. The best part: everything, I mean EVERYTHING, on their menu was $ 9. $ 914 years old Oban? Yes please. $ 9 any tequila that isn’t Jose Cuervo? Hells yes. You get the point. The hard liquor was $ 9 from house to awesome(cocktails not included). I can get on board with that.

Working just a few doors down, this place is my favorite wind down bar for a quiet drink or perfect when I’m relaxing with a friend over a bottle or two. The friendly and efficient table service also make this place the perfect hideaway on a busy Smith Street. Love that it’s not so easy to find!
