Dragonfly Collaroy

Staff very attentive but not perceptive. Too eager to take the order etc. Generic South East Asian cuisine with too much emphasis on sauce to attain flavor. Average of $ 25.00 per main course which is reasonable considering the beachside location. Attractive contemporary décor but the lack of any acoustic treatment to the ceiling meant that the road noise and patron noise made it difficult to hold a conversation without raising your voice.

Gourmet takeaway. If your after a unique Thai experience this will not disappoint. We order; dumplings, pork papya salad, fresh spring rolls and the masa man curry.
The food was outstanding. Ingredients well balanced with a real good use of fresh ingredients. Every bite offered a different zing.
Good value for money, but the price is at the top end of the market.

Think again.
Dragonfly Collaroy takes a refreshingly different approach to Thai and Asian cuisine — instead of lowering itself to the $ 15 pad thai that doesn’t really taste that great that everyone else is doing, Dragonfly South East Asian Cusine does things differently. It’s more expensive, but it can’t be compared — this is a different way of eating Asian food.
The restaurant is also brilliantly designed, with its outdoor-​style eating perfectly in sync with its location at Collaroy Beach. Although on the wrong (west) side of Pittwater Road, Dragonfly still has a great view — albeit over the tops of the cars whizzing by.
The drinks are beautifully presented like the food, and taste good — and strong! Watch yourself if you’re looking to drive home. The service is also done by chatty, funny and pleasant people looking to please.
Although my poor student wallet can’t afford it every week, I wish it could! Dragonfly is a superb dining experience, especially for all those fed up with dining in Sydney.
