Came here on a wine tour of the Yarra Valley. This place is huge with large industrial production capacity. The wine tasting area is also very large and packed full of people. I thought the place was a bit too commercialized. Our wine tour gave us 1 flute sample of sparkling wine, however if you want to get a full tasting directly with the winery, it cost just $ 5.

Had a good tasting here with a smashing Italian(female) sommelier. Despite arriving in the closing bell, she took her time and kept us engaged. Definitely a lovely setting and top quality sparkling wines in particular. Highly recommended.

A very pretty pit stop in the Yarra Valley. This experience was vastly better when I was dragged there on a hen night. That experience was of bad service and rubbish value for money and there wasn’t even a snack for everyone. We had a wine tasting, 1 sample of wine is free or all 6 for $ 5(which you can redeem against any purchase of a bottle). It was pleasantly surprising to discover a sparkly I liked better than their fanciest kind. What impressed me the most was the staff who remained passionate in describing their wines no matter how many times they explained it to the customers. The vineyard itself is stunning too. I wish I’d known about the free self guided tour but that’ll have to be for the next time.

I can’t understand why anyone would rate this lower than amazing. Yes, it’s expensive but hey over the price and enjoy the quality. Fantastic wine, amazing view and beautiful food. I am in heaven. Beautiful day great company wine and food. Come here and enjoy the whole experience. It’s only an hour from the city and its so peaceful. Yes, it’s not for budget conscious back Packers, but if $ 60 is ok in you budget for a peaceful and delicious afternoon. Do it! You won’t be disappointed.

Visited this place due to recommendation of a friend posted on social media and totally like the place. Though it is commercialise, it still shows that it can be a good winery place to visit with beautiful view.

ambiance//***** a gorgeous driveway leads into the parking area a short stroll will take you to the picturesque winery and tasting building we were seated inside with open window walls that provide excellent visibility to the grape vines outside fun self-paced tour of the winery plus I really love that they kept the original dairy farm’s house! service//***** our large party had 3 babies and their waitstaff handled us like pros I tried to surreptitiously pick up the tab, but my cousin yelled, «NO! It’s her birthday!!» so the cashier also refused to take my card =T we wandered to the tour section later on and they were closing, but nice enough to reopen the entrance so we could exit quickly food & drinks//***** as it was a birthday celebration, we ordered a few bottles of champagne. platters of charcuterie. oysters! =9 everything was yummy and decadently plated as I would expect of Domaine Chandon I’m not sure on the pricing of tasting, but I think it’s a lovely venue for a group event ~*~ a fantastic place to spend an afternoon for a celebratory event~ much love to my aussie crew for my memorable festivities~ especially Teresa C.!!

We love supporting the Ma and Pa wineries more than the big guys, but even we have to put this to the side when showing off the Yarra Valley to friends, as Domaine Chandon is simply one of the most stunning spots around, and with wines to compliment. It says something that neither I nor my partner are big lovers of Sparklings, but even we get seduced by their selections. Don’t expect generous tasting serves for your $ 5(refundable with purchase, which you will likely do) but with so many people coming through the doors each day you can understand that. They also have a separate space for groups which is very helpful in ensuring you can get to the ‘bar’ for a taste when you arrive, as it can get *very* busy in there.

It’s Domaine Chandon… what else can I say? As others have said I too expected that I would find this winery too commercial but it’s not. It is HUGE but it is also quit lovely. And you can walk around and read about the processes which is interesting — however I would recommend doing this sooner rather than later in your wine trip just to ensure you have full comprehension ;-). The sparkling is divine… but I’m sure you already knew that!

I’m more of a microbrewery/ma-and-pop shop girl, so was a little wary about visiting Domaine Chandon with the expectation of an impersonal corporate experience. But it ended up being a surprise highlight of our do-it-yourself winery tour trip. One recommendation is the free guided winery tour. It enhanced the experience and our appreciation for the wines and we also got to visit the locked cellars where the bottles are aged. The property is beautiful — mountains in the distance and on the grounds different coloured rose bushes mark the grape varieties growing behind them. As others have noted, the tasting room is small and crowded. And there are a lot of visitors that come here. But the staff member serving us($ 5 for the wine tasting) was both knowledgeable and friendly. And as he, and another reviewer noted, the sparkling pinot shiraz is very popular. I’d certainly stop here again on a winery tour. And it would also serve as a good destination for ‘girly’ events like an afternoon hens party or shower.

Born in Louisiana and living in Texas i did not know what to expect. My wifes family lives in the area and we all decided to visit this place on a cold rainy day. Even on a rainy day it was breath taking and beautiful. The samples were awesome and the food was great also. I am planning on moving to the area so im sure i will become a regular.

If you’re in the market for sparkling wine, then Domaine Chandon is the place to go. Its that simple. they have a great selection of Brut offerings, all available for tasting. Chandon is a popular destination for tourists, so a $ 5 tasting fee is charged. This fee is refunded if you buy a bottle of wine. The sparkling wines on offer cover a broad range of tastes, from dry to very sweet. If you have an upcoming celebration, then there will be something to suit you. A smaller selection of non-sparkling wines is offered, which was all quite nice but comparable to other red and whites from the area.

Domaine Chandon has some good, some bad, and some ugly going for it. The product: top rate, first class, some of the best sparkling wines in the area and they sure produce a lot of it. That’s the good. The bad, well, I suppose it goes with the higher end commercialism that comes with their world-famous name. A visit to Domaine Chandon is most definitely worth adding to your list, and the tasting flight of sparkling wines is great fun — but there are huge busloads of visitors here, and that can detract from the experience just a bit. Lunches and tours are available, and I’ve experienced both, but I’d say you’re better off doing lunch elsewhere and take a trip to Domaine Chandon for all that you’ll learn about producing sparkling wines in the region, the technology and people involved in the process, and enjoy the final result in their gorgeous tasting room. My absolute favourite: Their sparkling pinot shiraz. WOW.

Went with a few friends and got the tour(free), wine tasting(nine types for $ 5), and an amazing view(priceless). Staff was professional and knowledgeable. Try to avoid the big tour buses or other groups since the tasting room is relatively small. Well worth a visit as part of a trip to Healesville — will definitely be back.

Domaine Chandon is a very popular brand of sparkling wine. With a beautiful, modern building located in Yarra Valley, it offers free tours and affordable wine tastings. For $ 20, you can taste their sparkling range, which includes their sparkling red, signature sparkling, rose sparkling, and a sweet sparkling. The only downside is their tasting room — it’s relatively tiny for such a well known brand. You have to wait ages before you get served. You’re better off paying for a tasting and sitting at the bar. I don’t recommend buying their food — it’s quite expensive. I think an antipasto was $ 30 and a cheese plate was $ 35? That’s slightly ridiculously, particularly, when I saw the food come out — standard size. Overall, good experience because of the tour — other wineries don’t offer this, but just a lukewarm experience with everything else.

Don’t get me wrong, Domaine Chandon is a beautiful vineyard selling some pretty top notch wines, it just feels a little soulless to me. Located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, Domaine Chandon is perhaps one of the grandest vineyards in the area and, arguably owing to its affiliation with Moët and Chandon, is probably one of the most popular. Offering tastings, tours and a brasserie serving some beautiful looking food, Domaine Chandon is worth a visit to see the stunningly sprawling vineyard itself. Contrary to popular belief, Domaine Chandon is not owned by the nice people over at Moët but was instead established in the 1980s by a group of Australian wine enthusiasts to grow grapes on behalf of the Champagne behemoth. Although a visit to the Yarra Valley wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Domaine Chandon, in my opinion there are better wines — and more charming vineyards — to be found elsewhere.

Beautiful location, of course… but there are two things you MUST do whilst you’re here: 1. Buy the champagne and strawberry jam 2. Learn how Moet & Chandon is actually pronounced(you’ll be surprised). Educational AND tasty! Win win!

What is a trip to the Yarra Valley without visiting the place where the beautiful Moet Chandon is made. On a day trip out to the winery region, this was our last stop. The grounds here are absolutely amazing. We drove up the drive way and landed in a perfectly pruned playground where the the roses seem to blossom just that bit more brighter than anywhere else. We were told stories that seemed a tad farfetched but intrigued me to the point of googling if they were actually true. Such things as Moet Chandon hiring helicopters in winter to hover over the vines to keep them from freezing… CRAZYHUH? But very true. We took a tour of the winery and it was such a pleasant experience. We explored the grounds, buildings and were given a detailed explanation of how the champagne is made. We sat and enjoyed some snacks and sipped on a few different types of chanson. The rain kept us indoors but we still enjoyed the view of the gorgeous scenery.

I have been to this winery a few times now, and each time is always such a pleasant. It is not far from Melbourne(for a winery), and has the most incredible, beautiful and picturesque landscape. As soon as you turn into the estate, trees greet you on either side of the road, instantly there is a sense of peace and awe. When you walk down to the main building, you see the vineyard stretch on for what seems forever. White lawn chairs on the grass overlook the land and just scream detail to style. The main building here allows you to wine taste and purchase their selection. There is also a lovely restaurant at is equally well planned out and decorated. Chandon is not somewhere you go to have a ‘good meal’, don’t get me wrong, the food is fantastically present and quite tasteful. It’s just there is quite a lack of choice, the main course usually offers only 2 options, the rest are entrées and share platters. The food isn’t bad, but considering the style and atmosphere of the place, you would expect it to be better. Despite the food I will continue to come here over and over again, just to sit and look at the view.
