This was a pretty nice café that I discovered when I was on other business in Clifton Hill. Mind you it does close early(around 4:00 pm) but the do serve breakfast. However the problem that I found with it is that they don’t open until 8:00 pm which means that I am pushing it to get to work if I come here for breakfast. However it was a pretty nice place for a spot of breakfast, which is always a good thing. There is nothing too fancy about the place, however their breakfast stack(which was eggs, cheese, and salmon on a couple of muffins) was pretty nice. I liked how they gave me a pot of hot water with my tea because it not only meant that I could water it down, it also made it last a lot longer. The only problem with this place is the opening time. If they opened earlier I would definitely visit here again.

I came here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, delicious porridge and an excellent flat white. Quite a relaxed atmosphere too — customers were predominantly a mix of senior citizens and young mothers.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood near Clifton Hill station Café Quince is a lovely spot with a great menu. There is a variety of breakfast and lunch items and they serve breakfast until 3pm when the kitchen closes. I had a breakfast wrap containing eggs, bacon, cheese and tomatoes with BBQ aioli and salad. It was yummy and I was getting full near the end. My husband had a potato and basil patty that was a substantial size and quite delicious. Both of these were specials. I ordered a chai and I noticed the café uses a powder chai that seems to be a trend lately. It’s great, for sure, but I do enjoy chai from a good spice blend and not a powder. It’s a good size and family-friendly, a perfect fit for the neighbourhood. The staff are friendly and they also have fresh baked goods for sale at the counter. Café Quince is in the running to be our new regular!
