Beautiful, fresh hot chips. Perfectly seasoned. Just what I wanted and for a decent price as far as serving sizes go

This fish and chip place is way above the greasy spoon. As a person of Greek heritage, and a former chip shop owner, I know class when I see it. their footpath service, presentation, quality, freshness and good service are some of the best I have experienced. As they are licensed too a good chardie is the perfect finish to a good time.

This was seriously the best fish and chips I have ever had. A big call, I know. I had grilled snapper, chips and a Greek salad. I don’t know what they season the fish and chips with before cooking but it is delicious — too good to cover up with any sauce from a red bottle. The only reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars is because it’s not the prettiest of locations or décor — but that’s fine by me.

My wife and I’s favorite«fish and chip» takeaway in the Cleveland area. We don’t dine in as we live nearby but while waiting, have seen some truly delicious platters go past me. Fish is consistently well cooked and the beer battered chips are always tasty. Staff are efficient and friendly. Can wholeheartedly recommend this if looking for some delicious cooked takeaway seafood.

Fish on Fire is a cut above the rest. There are just so many fish and chip places around sometimes it is hard to distinguish one from the other, for all I know they could all order their produce from the same supplier. Thankfully Fish on Fire is one of a few of my favourite fish and chip places in the Bayside. They have great packages and meal combinations, like salad, your choice of fish and chips that are great value. While they are not the cheapest chip place around, they are by no means expensive and I would much rather pay for quality and I feel pretty secure knowing that I will get a consistently good meal from here. The salads are fresh and I really like the crumbed fish and of course the crunchy, well seasoned fish.

I love Fish on Fire, from concept to food on the plate. Sidewalk dining at its best, Fish on Fire offers delicous fresh fish at a reasonable price and it’s always cooked to perfection. This is one of the few places I order grilled — oh I know should always go for this healthier option, but at other places I’m usually won over by the idea of golden fried crumbs, however the coating on the grilled fish here is the best I’ve tasted, providing a herby, crispy finish to the fish. The grilled snapper is my favourite. Let’s talk about the chips. This is one of the very few places around which still serves the broad, flat kind, but again the main attraction is in the crispy, seasoned finish. All meals are served with your choice of salad and appear on a generously sized oval platter. The staff are friendly and efficient and the owner, a genuine soccer nut, is always on hand to say hi. While I always order the snapper grill, one of my friends usually goes for the hot seafood platter for one, and another really likes the latte, so for me, this is a great allrounder, as we sit in a covered sidewalk area and watch the world go by.
