This is one of my favourite Places to eat in Melbourne. It’s really a café with a drinks fridge and a bane marie but who cares when the flavours are this good! My only experience of Indonesia is Bali, but this place has better food than I’ve ever eaten in Legian, so that must be good, right? I am addicted to their Sambal Goreng Kentang and will often buy large containers of the stuff to munch on at work. The ladies must think I’m crazy. The Beef Rendang packs a punch but the aubergine with a whole deep fried egg is my favourite. They always ask me if I want sambal which I always agree to because, well, I enjoy that sinus blowing kick!

This restaurant is one of the many gems in Clayton. Authentic Indonesian cuisine that is delicious and great value, even the bain marie items are great. The Kwetiao Goreng is one of the best versions of this dish I have tried, although it is a little different to the Malaysian version. The soft bone chicken is delicious and an experience if you’ve never eaten chicken bone before. The standard Indonesian staples are all great and all the dishes I have tried are delicious and sometimes they have an interesting dessert as well. It also has friendly service just to complete the package.
