If you love Thai food and don’t mind a bit of noise, this place is perfect. Well situated in the Charlestown Shopping Complex with a short stroll to the cinemas if you want dinner and entertainment. I have been a few times now, mostly on Valentine’s Day when it is CRAZY busy! But this night wasn’t too bad. Plenty of tables although it was so loud you’d think it was full. Still wise to book ahead! The food was served surprisingly quickly. I had the prawn spring rolls with the always tasty dipping sauce. Most entrée items are priced per piece(eg $ 2.90 for one spring roll) so get adventurous and try a bit of everything. If you like a little heat the red curry is perfect. Just the right amount but don’t get cocky like I did and assume the next slice of chilli will be as mild as the previous. 20 minutes later and still sucking on ice from my coke to put out the fire.

The vegetables were good as was the rice. The soft shell crab which is the highlight of that cuisine for me, and also the most expensive item on the menu, was served COLD. ROOMTEMPERATURECOLD. I told them about it, so they took it away, deep fried it some more and brought it back. This time around it was piping hot but a few of the small bits were burnt and the whole thing was dripping with oil. Unbeatable. They were nice enough to not charge me for it but it was a massive disappointment. The ambience was good and the family were happy with what they ordered. Yes I’ll go back but next time I’ll stick to the pork.

Do not recommend this place if you want a pleasant stress free night. I booked a table for 8. 5 days in advance I arrived told them we were here was told to wait my table then got given away, they got the meals wrong and forgot 2 people’s meals after making several complaints the staff were quiet rude to me and tried to tell me I got my order wrong when I knew I 100% did not. Plus it was quiet expensive. Do not recommend eating here again and I know myself and my friends and family won’t be either. Disappointed

We loved the food at Absolute Thai. All of it was tasty and delicious. Our kids enjoyed the satay chicken and rice and we loved our beef massaman and pad sieu with lamb. The flat rice noodles were so imbued with flavour and the beef in the massaman was so tender, it was melting in my mouth not to forget the sauce it was in mixed with the rice was a perfect combination! The mocktail of a ‘piña colada’ was the best I’d ever had! We vowed to visit the branch closer to home next time. 10 out of 10!

Fantastic Food, this restuarant is prompt, comfortable and serve tasty Thai food. Having visited multiple times they provide a consistent and quality service at any time of the day. I highly recommend their Pad Thai or Laksa. They also do great take away. Byo service.

At first glance I thought this was going to be another«New Shanghai» experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised when the waiter could speak English. We ordered curry puff and prawn donut for entrée. Both these dishes were presented well and very tasty. The main we decided on duck with chilli and basil which was beautiful. The duck was moist and tender served with beautiful fresh vegetables. The dish tasted Devine. If you ever in Charlestown looking for a nice lunch walk straight past New Shanghai and into Absolute Thai. You won’t be disappointed. 4 stars.

Quick and easy… We had a wonderful time. I ordered the moneybags for the entrée, and my main dish was the Pad Thai chicken. Excellent food. My wife usually never touched Thai food, but she loved her dish. Live music on Friday night. Not sure if that’s normal, but it was good. The only thing missing was the Thai Iced Tea.
