Ummmmm… nomnomnom… What a really nice deli, stocked full of delish looking fresh food and kosher produce. The menu board says they only use kosher meat and poultry, and everything from sweets to roasts looks so tantalising. Okay, I only stopped to grab a coffee and ended up leaving with a slice of baked cheesecake. Two kilos heavier, I’m still thinking about it. It was a massive slice. It was sweet. It was perfection in a cake. Cake and cheese. Will definitely return to try their other food items like the roast chook and sides. Popular with the locals but anyone who comes in gets a warm, friendly service. Oh yes, they have a good selection of bagels, but what stopped me from getting some was that they were sitting in an open basket. On the floor. Uh uh, not sure why it was on the floor as that’s pretty gross considering every man and his dog(being dramatic here) walks right past it. Food should never be placed on the floor like that. Maybe that adds to the delish-ness of it all. My return trip will tell.

Although I have never been to the deli district on 3rd in New York I would imagine that Café D’Lish is as close as it gets. This little suburban deli thrives on the local neighbourhood and whenever you walk inside you are greeted with a smile. I would recommend everything in this place, from their sandwiches that can be made to order just the way you like it to their take away meals that you can eat at home and who could forget their selection of cakes to complement a fantastic lunch. They even have a selection of bagels from some of the finest bagel makers south east of the city.
