First time eating at a lebanse restaurant, food a bit pricey but it was complemented by the portion size couldn’t finish it all. We got the mix kabab platter which was more than enough for four people, all meats were grilled which is great. Really enjoyed the live belly dancers which was very engaging and interactive with other people. Shisha was $ 30 for the fresh head(reasonably priced), they had a lot of flavors which we could mix without paying extra, manager was very helpful in explaining about the shisha and flavors, took his recommendation of peach, coconut and mint NICE! I will be back very soon with more friends. thanks for a wonderful experience.

Truly awful. I cannot believe such a bad restaurant can survive in Lygon St. yetch…

This place is a total rip off. 12.50 $ for a tabouli salad the size of a small cup. Not that good either. 10 $ for microwaved spinach — and nonstop Arabic music — no thank you. And oh, they don’t give you tea in a pot… 4.50 $ for a dilma tea bag.

This was honestly the worst meal service I have ever had, don’t go for food! I think it’s more of a Sesha place

Some of the best shisha in Melbourne! Minzaman was the first place I ever tried a shisha, and I instantly fell in love with the place. The staff were friendly, and helped us newbies out with the setup of the smoking apparatus. Now I have tried basically all of their flavours, and by far my favourite is apple and strawberry mixed. Melon follows a close second. They still won’t tell me what brand of tobacco they use! 5 years later, and I have explored pretty much all of Melbourne’s shisha joints. Minzaman is still great, but frankly, compared to other ‘local’ places nearby in neighboring suburbs Northcote/Coburg/Preston etc, it’s a tad expensive($ 20 a pipe). The food is pretty good, but it too can be a little pricey. Mains are anywhere between $ 20 – 40, depending on what you order, specials etc. Also note on a warm evening, it may be quite difficult to find a table(particularly outside). All in all its a very comfortable place to sit with a coffee, some baklava and a shisha. When people want to try out a shisha, I still take them here.

I have never eaten at Minzaman but I don’t really need to! * Outside seating * Shisha that you can smoke inside and out * Belly dancers * Full bar But be warned — the shisha is powerful! I have shared a pipe with two other friends, it was a special flavour made exclusively by one of the staff and as we puffed away I noticed my friend turning a slight shade of green… It was very funny though. The staff are fantastic and will do all that they can to ensure you have a good night — they also don’t mind if you get a little rowdy in the later hours.

MinZaman Lebanese restaurant is one of the two spots along this part of Lygon Street where you can enjoy a spot of shisha after your meal, and has a great vibe on Friday and Saturday nights when belly dancers come out periodically to blaring music, entertain the customers. I’ve been here on a number of occasions, with both big groups of friends and on dates, and I’ve always had a great night. The food here is good middle eastern fare, with heaps of options for vegetarians. I’d recommend either getting a selection of Mezze or a banquet, so you can graze slowly, share food and enjoy the atmosphere. MinZaman is also good just for a dessert and coffee or a drink at the end of the night(with a pipe, of course). The shisha is $ 20 a pipe and comes in the usual flavours of apple, strawberry, peach and mint, as well as a few that were new to me, including ‘tropical’. I’m not sure that one was around back in Aladdin’s day…
