A very well-maintained and well-patronised park with ample parking. Also a dog-friendly park where obedient dogs are free to roam. There is a lovely wooded area to amble through, leading to another shady smaller park with a series of great exercise equipment that twists, rotates, stretches and sometimes confounds you as to its purpose.

Carine Regional Open Space is a wetland reserve centred on two large swamps – which in fact give the suburb its name – and boasts a number of sporting facilities, including an oval, as well as a diverse population of wildlife. Birdwatchers, as well as fans of amphibians and reptiles, can happily while away a lot of time here. Such characters can get around on foot on bicycle, making use of the reserve’s numerous running tracks. Other facilities include toilets, picnic spots, barbeques and a skate park, making it the perfect location for a family outing. There is stretching equipment at five hundred metre intervals throughout the reserve, making it a perfect option for fitness fanatics, though why anyone would want to exercise in these recent temperatures is beyond me…
