Dropped my dog in to get clipped nearby and dropped in to pick up a takeaway coffee. Very relaxed and friendly vibe so I settled in to a couch for an hour instead. Great coffee(I’m a coffee snob). Fresh muffins. Yum!

Good coffee. Simple eclectic setting. Very friendly staff. A little brownie on my coffee. When I am in this part of town I will drop in… Thanks for the coffee.

The word is true. Delicious food, great latte and friendly service. Very ample servings. May like to get some high chairs for infants. Will be back.

Nice place tucked in the backstreets of carina(who’d of guessed by the name). The staff there are all incredibly friendly, seem to remember just about everyone’s name. The coffee is delicious, the prices are good as well. Have only tried one item on the menu, the bacon and egg roll but have ordered it many times because of how damn tasty it is. Plenty of space to sit outside and a few seats inside. Highly recommended. As another reviewer pointed out, best thing is the lycra heroes haven’t seem to of found it yet.

I think this possibly the friendliest coffee shop I’ve ever been in! The owner knows all the regulars by name, greets them with a warm smile and cheery hello — seems genuinely happy to see everyone. Prices are very reasonable, quick service and good quality coffee and breakfast foods. Best of all the mobs of Lycra wearing cyclists don’t seem to have found it yet!

Backstreet Espresso offers the friendliest service I have ever encountered. The owner, Michael, seems to know all his customers by their first name. Very impressive! The staff always acknowledge you with a warm welcome on arrival too. I think I’ve grown so accustomed to staff not making eye contact and ignoring me that great service come as a bit of a shock. Fortunately the service is backed-up with really great coffee. Every coffee also comes with a free bite-size brownie. These are delicious and my partner will often buy a few extra. I’m yet to try any of the other food on offer in their display cabinet. There is a real feeling of community at Backstreet Espresso. Michael has set-up a noticeboard where lots of local businesses have pinned their business cards. There are also lots of posters and flyers on the walls for upcoming local events. I like having a peruse while I wait for my coffee, if Michael or one of the friendly staff are too busy for a chat. As the name suggests, Backstreet Espresso is located in a nice quiet backstreet. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating if you want to relax and enjoy your coffee. Newspapers and magazines are available if you want to have a read.

Amazing friendly local café tucked away in the backstreets of Carina. The owner knows all the regulars by name and pulls a great coffee. Perfect for locals in Carina and those passing through.

Located on the otherwise unassuming Kenrose Street is Backstreet Espresso, a small suburban café. The space is quite spacious, no fuss and friendly. Open all week, it serves up a small breakfast selection and espresso coffee. The coffee is great, and at a very generous price. The service is excellent, with the coffee pulled by the owners, giving it that local feeling. A great addition to the area.
