I’ve done my rounds meeting my friends with their kids. We started at café’s when we first had kids and had no idea what to do with them. We soon found out that they created a mess, we couldn’t breastfeed very well and the chairs made it hard to navigate a massive pram through, don’t get me started about babies dropping toys everywhere. Then we migrated to our homes… one week at mine, the next week at yours and as the kids grew older, we found that it was probably better to enclose them in a room so whatever crazy they got up to, it was contained. Now that they are 3 and older, we go to this new phenomenon that is kiddy playgrounds, inside. So you don’t have to worry about the sun anymore, you don’t have to worry about them throwing breakables or getting paint all over themselves and your carpets… they can play to their hearts content in massive blow up castles and slides and plastic little balls. Lollipop’s was one of the places we went to. They have a daily coffee and cake special $ 6.90 and it’s pretty good cake. They also have a separate baby/crawler area so the big kids don’t stampede your little one. It’s $ 10.90 for kids 2 and up and a dollar more for holidays, all you need to do is bring socks for the kids. No shoes, only socks. They sell a variety of fruit, cheerios, nuggets, chips and whatnot for kids to gorge themselves on while you have your adult conversation(mostly about babies ironically) so this is a great place to go if you have the little ones and have any hope of having a catch up conversation with good friends. My only complaint is that it’s a bit small, i’ve been a little spoilt by Rowdy Rascals up Jindalee way, they have a bigger area more tables and a larger baby/crawler area. Other than that, it does get a bit noisy and I wouldn’t suggest going on school holidays, it’s like a kiddy mosh pit. The tables make it a bit cramped too. They also charge adults $ 3.50… for sitting there to watch your own kids… I don’t really like this charge because adults are usually free everywhere else. All in all, another good place to put kids at when you want to catch up with a girlfriend or two.
