Romeo’s IGA

This late night supermarket is so handy, and I have been known to go there quite late when I’ve forgotten important items.
On entering, there is another hidden section which has many Italian items or specials ranging from pasta to pretzels. Somehow I think they are known for their pretzels as many customers have them in their hand to buy.
The store is small so does not carry a huge variety of items. I was after a big 10kg of flour and this was not stocked. Nor is there a deli, and if you need ham for sandwiches it is prepacked and in the fridges.
The convenience of the opening hours are great and even though the store is small it carries a range better than the petrol station.

So happy I can (conveniently!) support a local business & buy those random items that you only ever realise you need at 9:05pm (pretzels, mainly).
You can find various goods from other local SA businesses so you can continue to support them, eg Vella Pasta even after their factory outlet is closed.
Service is great and I’m always appreciative of the staff that put in the late hours.

This place gets so many stars because it has saved me time and time and time again. This place sees the disorganised of the North Eastern and Eastern suburbs come in late at night, public holidays and early Sunday mornings. Open every day from 6am until Midnight, it is a life saver.
Not as big as other supermarkets, this IGA still has everything from cold meats, cakes and fresh bread to produce.

So you live out here in the ‘satellite’ suburbs, right? Campbelltown, lap of the gods — well, except if you need some kind of grocery item late at night. You CAN pay over the odds at a BP service station, there’s two open ²⁴⁄₇ in the area — however if you’re not going at paying two to three times what the can of catfood is worth at your local supermarket, you CAN go to the IGA…
Open till midnight, this is often a lifesaver for me — 15 years after leaving the Gold Coast I still have the odd lapse of concentration and forget I live in Adelaide, home of the 5pm closure, rather than a 24 hour fantasmogoria of shopping opportunities. You can get everything here from cat food to breakfast cereal, and the store is open till midnight. OMG, midnight, whatever is Adelaide coming to???
Until Campbelltown gets a 24 hour shop of some kind, the IGA is it. It provides absolute gold by being open way past the time every other supermarket has curled up with it’s pillow and a nice fluffy doona.

This place is a life saver. The fact that it is open until 12am every night is perfect if you run out of milk or some other kind of food stuff that you need.
I find myself here a lot actually, I should probably organise myself a little better, but then again I know this place is here as a sort of grocery safety net.
As it is an IGA they stock things that other supermarkets do not. They have American sodas and the like, as well as a huge range of imported foods from Italy.
