Great to find a local purveyor of Vietnamese rolls because when the craving strikes, it strikes hard. Lovely flavours, nice and fresh.

Hai’s Pies — my kids get a good giggle every time we go there, I’m not 100% sure it’s an intentional joke though. So what do we spies with our little eyes in this tiny, tucked away bakery? Plenty of fresh bread, baked goods, pies, sausage rolls, and a small bench top fridge filled with vietnamese cold rolls. Hang on. Cold Rolls? In a bakery? This is no ordinary bakery — but it gets better, yet — vietnamese rolls, too — you know, the crusty bread roll with sliced meats, a tasty sauce of, well, unknown origin exactly, shredded greenery and(if you say yes) lashings of fresh chopped chilli. The bread rolls are crispy outside and fluffy inside — bread is so fresh the day old bargains are still better than that stuff you find in packets on the supermarket shelves. I haven’t tried the donuts, but my kids assure me they’re wonderful — I expect to be assured a heap more times over the upcoming school holidays. The prices here are low. Really low. As well as saving yourself some money, you’re actually doing your bit to support the local community, too, because Hai’s does a lot to help support people who find themselves down on their luck and needing welfare. Plenty of parking is available — Hai’s Pies is tucked away in the corner, just behind the ANZ bank :)
