Came here with a group of 8 recently and had a very good dining experience. The food is exceptional quality and so is the service. The only issue that we had was the short 2 hour early session from 6−8pm. Considering they serve a lot of special sake, wines and even high end Japanese whiskey — 2 hours is not enough time. Given that there is nothing else in the immediate area, you feel the evening is half complete when walking out the door at 8pm. We had the degustation set menu which was a good mix of fresh seafood and charcoal grilled meats. The tempura was very good as were the grilled skewers. We made the mistake of ordering a few extra dishes like the crab croquettes and lobster popcorn — although good, meant we had way too much food.

One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in Sydney that I have tried. Seafood is so fresh and the flavours speak for themselves. Honest, authentic food, really great. The only negative is the décor — small and squashed, tables and chairs look worn and the restaurant could do with a refurbishment.

I was taken here for dinner by friends and, absolutely loved it. It’s been here for years and, unless you know this place exists you would not find it. It’s a traditional Japanese Yakitori /Izakaya house with very traditional décor, small tables, open kitchen and very friendly staff. They have a huge selection of sakes to choose from and of course, other drink choices like beer, wine, teas and so on. They have a menu with a wide range of choices and a daily specials list. We ordered a sashimi selection, pork belly skewers, slow cooked scallops and, tempura prawns with truffle salt. The food here is amazing. The fish was super fresh and tasty. The tempura prawns were divine and I loved the scallops. The flavours were very authentic and clean just like good places in Japan. I would happily come back here any day for a feed and some sake. A great place to hang out with friends. This place was packed on a Sunday night, with people doing the same. It’s a real gem in the area :-))
