Came here for breakfast, amazing feel to the place but nothing compared to the utter awesomeness of the pancake stack they serve!!! Its a must try! Love!

Dude food at its finest! Good little bar in the casino probably the best of all of them for vibe and décor. Food is typical American style with a bit of a twist on some dishes and very tasty! My gripe would be the price, there is no starter or tapas style dish for under $ 20 and some are quite small so if you ordered 2 your looking at at least $ 45 for a snack! They need bigger portions or smaller prices to make it better value.

After having a day at the Casino with a friend our husbands joined us and we went for an early dinner, 5.30pm, to The Merrywell. For main I had a burger and my husband had chicken parmigiana, basic pub menu food, but I really enjoyed the burger the meat was full flavoured and not over cooked and the chips were fantastic. My husband said his chicken was moist and tasty. We shared a Key Lime Cheesecake in a jar, mmm so delicious. Although you order yourself at the counter the service was still very good. The prices are probably a little on the high side.

The Merrywell was our chosen venue for a quick and easy pre-show meal at the Crown complex in Burswood. It offers typical pub fare, with homage to some classic American foods. Burgers and comfort foods are typically what the Merrywell is about, and AB and his girlfriend Amy opted for two such dishes. AB’s Philly style steak sandwich was such a huge mouthful of food that he had to resort to a knife and fork to eat it with. The bun was soft and fell to pieces with the weight of all the fillings. Nevertheless he enjoyed the thinly-sliced wagyu rump, onions, mushrooms, cheese and balsamic dressing. A satisfying manly dish, accompanied by a basket of thin fries. Amy’s Donut Doubler burger was a meal of huge proportions that she struggled to finish. With double beef, crispy bacon and aged cheddar between a glazed donut(their spelling), she said it was a bit too rich for her taste. There’s nothing done by halves at the Merrywell — lots of carbs, cheeses, truffle flavours and oils. My choice of the pink snapper tacos consisted of cumin-flavoured snapper pieces on a bed of pureed sweet potato in soft tacos. This light and tasty dish was complemented by crunchy pickled red cabbage. I thought these little things might need a bit of help, so I ordered a side of fries rendered in duck fat with truffle salt. Looks like a whole lot of fried stuff going in those photos, right? The side of fries was a huge plate that wasn’t worth the hefty price of $ 15. To add insult to injury they failed to deliver any discernible improvement in taste. It didn’t help that I prefer chunky style fries instead of the string versions served. Having eaten delectable roast potatoes cooked in duck fat, I was expecting something more. Well, it is pub grub after all, and perhaps I was a bit optimistic. You choose your table, go up to the booth to order your food, and you’re served within a reasonable time. You buy your drinks separately at the bar. If you arrive early enough in the evening, it’s a pleasant enough eating environment but as the night wears on, the music is pumped up and it becomes crowded and noisy. The Merrywell is not fancy, but it fills the niche at Crown for those who want a reasonably decent meal before a show, without spending a fortune.

The merrywell is in a great location at the casino, we came here for breakfast, though were quite confused whether they were open or not. The signs all say they open at 11:30am and don’t mention breakfast so it can be confusing. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our dishes they were tasty and came quickly.

Group of 2 SATURDAY16/01/2016 Being a Saturday night it was already packed out at 5:30pm. We put our name down on the wait list and in 5 minutes were called back to be seated. We decided on a few share plates and went on our way to ordering at the counter. There was only a short wait to order and then the food came out quite quickly. The Buffalo Wings were definitely the favourite, followed closely by the Wagyu Mini Burgers. The Lamb Meatballs were presented well and the fresh salsa on top was delicious. The steak on the Steak Frites was cooked perfectly however the fries that accompanied the meal were way too salty. Definitely a winner if you are wanting a quick bite however would be hard to catch up with friends as the restaurant is quite noisy.

Bad service! Slow and everyone seems to be busy walking around and not really attending to customers. We went on a Wednesday night and the place is fairly busy at 9pm. Most of the tables were either occupied or were full of used plates/rubbish from previous patrons. Staff took forever to clean our table and did not mention to us that we need to order from the food counter, hence more waiting… We had the vegetarian macho nachos which was really good. Generous serving size with a tonne load of guacamole and beans blanketing the crispy chips. Bar has a long list of choices which is good too. The only reason why I’m giving this review a 3⁄5 is cos of the poor service that we had and the lengthy waits we had. Everything else was great!

The outdoor area is a great spot to enjoy cocktail or two in the sun. My husband loves the lollipop wings! They are little bit spicy but delicious.

I really wanted to try a burger or a steak sandwich but without the boys around we’d be kidding ourselves if we attempted either of those. We decided to order 4 shares plates between the 2 of us — Mac & cheese bites($ 18), Duck sloppy joes($ 21), Wicked lamb meatballs($ 21), and a side of corn on the cob. As usual, the food came out really quickly. Crown restaurants are well staffed so attentive service has never been a problem. The food on the other hand is always a hit and miss. Mac & cheese bites — Pretty disappointing! The whole thing was cold, hard, and«cardboard like». I expected it to be pockets of stringy cheesy goodness. BBQ Duck sloppy joes — The light and fluffy buns was the best part of this dish. It balanced the rich and saucey BBQ duck and the sriracha slaw well. Having more than one bun would have been an overkill in salt for me so I stopped myself at one. Wicked lamb meatballs — NEVERAGAIN! Both the meatballs and naan bread were dry and cold. The best part of the dish was the uncooked and raw bit, the tomato cucumber salad. Corn on the cob — If you like cheese you’ll like this. The ratio was like 50⁄50 cheese/corn. I’m glad we shared this cheesy stick although it was a difficult dish to share.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. We decided to get 3 share plates($ 68 in total, plus $ 13 for two glasses of Diet Coke) The 3 dishes we had were: BBQ Pork Quesadilla(6pc) — Excellent Korean style Fried chicken Bao Buns(3pc) — Great Merrywell Macho Nachos — Delicious Every plate was left empty and we left pleasantly surprised, as we were only expecting a pub meal. As an added bonus we had a win at the casino after dinner which ended up covering our dinner — score!

I’ve done a few meals here and even though I enjoyed my lunch time nachos and coming here for cocktails, the breakfast let us down and that’s why I’m only doing 3 stars. As per Perth usual they don’t take bookings and we had a large group so had to get there early to secure a table. The service was nice as well and we didn’t wait too long for food. I had a pretty good bacon and egg sandwich and tater tots but I was probably the happiest person on the table. No one else seemed too happy with their meal, not the quality or the size for the price that you pay. So I’d say come to the merrywell but maybe come for lunch or come at night for the music and cocktails!

I must say I expected an average Casino/Pub meal experience when I went to The Merrywell for the first time, but it has proven me wrong indeed. Even so close to the gambling saloons this place manages to offer a nice dining experience and some surprisingly good food. To date I’ve been to The Merrywell at least 4 times and had always enjoyed it, so it’s indeed a place I recommend.

After a disappointing visit to the Melbourne Merrywell I wasn’t holding much hope for the Perth franchise however I was pleasantly surprised! Perth for once beats Melbourne by a mile! It’s bigger, more spacious, has a better atmosphere, bigger menu and overall a much better experience. The staff were helpful and friendly and super efficient. The food was great. We had garlic bread to start which was amazing! We both had the Merrywell Burger which is usually served pink but they were more than happy to cater for our request to have our patties well done. A great relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food.

I see that one of my fellow Unilocaler’s(Jane B) has reviewed the Award winning Steak Sandwich already. And I couldn’t agree more. If by Award Winning they meant, «Awarded For Being Terrible», then it’s a Winner!!. We stopped into the Merrywell for a pre-show dinner(we saw Wicked — It was fantastic) with friends. It’s a fairly hip place with a bustling vibe but a vibe that costs. For $ 26, I got a sloppy mess of what I think was over cooked beef with grilled melted goop(which had glued the roll to the plate) on a very soggy open roll(sorry, I thought a sandwich was sliced bread not a roll, and it was an open roll at that; I guess it is easier to slap on a plate) with some orphaned beetroot slices sitting to the side and nothing else. The whole mess of a meal was difficult to eat, with no texture, of no real taste of the key ingredients and not worth the $$$. For $ 26 they could have at least thrown in some salad or chips. I have eaten at the Merrywell before with a work group and the food was very good on that occasion; but I wasn’t paying and didn’t have a concept of how expensive the Merrywell’s Pub Grub was. What I take out from this experience after reviewing the menu is that generally, all of the food is very overpriced and except that the fact that the Merrywell seems to be the place to be seen when at the Casino, subway makes a much better sandwich. On another note, I was also very disappointed to discover that one of the bar staff was ripping me off. Each time I ordered a beer and a lemon lime and bitters, the price was magically exactly $ 20 when paying with cash. On a subsequent visit to the bar while being served by another staff member, the same drinks when put through on my card were $ 1.50 less. Not the great robbery of the century, but add this over an average night and this staff member would rack up a considerable self imposed tip by stealing from the Burswood patrons. Don’t worry about being mugged in the casino parking lot when the Merrywell will do it in comfort and style.

Still not sure whether I like this place or not. I managed to get a free parking — but 2 of my friends told me that a lot of people get mugged at this parking area. It’s huge, mostly full. I think my night would’ve been worse if I had to pay $ 25+ for parking too. Which is why I never turn my head to Crown for a night-out. I went in and it was only 7.30 — the place was already packed(which I already suspected) and the staff was all over the place, busy doing their own job. I was pretty lost. Then I turned to the dining area and saw a sign that says something about waitlist area only so I thought«ok let’s keep walking maybe we’ll find something». No success in trying to get the staff attention, we ended up asking the security guard if there’s anywhere to sit if I didn’t book. He then showed me to the area. 20 minutes later, we got a table! Ordered their«SIGNATUREDISH» which was this Chicken Parmigiana — first bite and I immediately regretted paying $ 29. It’s not worth calling it signature dish. You would think no seasoning was required, but even after adding them still wasn’t worth $ 29. Goddamn overpriced. The wagyu burger my friend ordered was nice though! But I had to finish it because obviously I didn’t want to waste my $ 29 for nothing. It’s well-presented, but it ruined my night especially after expecting how good it would be. I’m not exaggerating, but I swear I would rather stay at home and have instant noodles my way. That’s how pissed off I was. But maybe if I did order the burger I would’ve given you one extra star, Merrywell. I then went to order a drink. Good one. Hence, 3 stars. Otherwise, meeeeh. They have such delicious espresso martini. Worth $ 21 — though I wish it was less than that. But it’s Perth. Don’t even get me started. In short, you have somewhere else better than this place if you’re looking for one to eat. But if you just feel like a drink or two with your mates, then you have no problem! Merrywell or merryhell? Merryhell.

The menu is pretty creative and even the regular brunch dishes have some kind of dude food, USA spin which left E and I with the hard task of choosing. I love when I have to weigh up the options, it makes dining out more interesting. E couldn’t pass up the Traditional Bennie($ 18), The Merrywell’s take on Eggs Benedict. Two perfectly poached eggs smothered in thick hollandaise sauce with an English muffin graced her plate, but what made the dish were the«home fries» that accompanied her meal. The chunky, home made seasoned potato wedges were an interesting addition to the rich dish, adding another element. I will definitely admit I stole a few of the flavoursome spuds from her plate. The New York Egg Sandwich($ 15) was my dish of choice after tossing up between three different meals. A twist on the usual bacon and egg roll, the Merrywell’s version featured two sunny side up eggs, melted provolone cheese(mmm) and crispy bacon on a brioche bun. Give me brioche any day! The bun was light and fluffy, and the well cooked insides were complimented by the gooey cheese. Served with tater tots(so American, I immediately thought of Napoleon Dynamite) and zesty tomato ketchup the dish was a winner. And I wasn’t too full afterwards which is always a plus!

I was pleasantly surprised we managed to get a table at the Merrywell without a booking — friends had often mentioned that without making a booking it can get pretty busy, and we were there after Les Miserables so I was expecting that a lot of people attending the show would stop by the Merrywell afterwards for a drink. We didn’t have any trouble getting a table outside though, there were at least 3 – 4 free in the back corner. I was pretty disappointed with my salmon — it had absolutely no flavour or seasoning, despite being very well presented. The other dishes ordered were good though. The serving of nachos was huge, and can be easily shared by a couple or would be enough to snack on between a few people. The jerk chicken was very tasty, and I loved the fruit served with it, although the chicken was a little spicier than I would prefer. It’s a nice venue, and I was pleased that it wasn’t as busy as I was expecting and we could enjoy dinner after the show. I wouldn’t recommend the salmon however, but would like to try other dishes on the menu given everyone else enjoyed their meal.

We had breakfast at the Merrywell today. It was just ok. I had waffles, they were dry(even with maple syrup) and my cream was over whipped and tasted like cheese. My partner had the French toast and said it was good. He wanted the huevos rancheros but they told him they had to remake the beans. Not as awesome as I thought it would be.

Another solid experience at the Merrywell. At 1700 on a Saturday evening we were found a large table in quick order which was great. After deliberation we order a selection of small plates to share. The buffalo wings being a personal favorite with its bags of flavour and balanced sauce makes for a spicy affair. I’m still a little stumped that you have to order drinks from one location, Oder food from another and sit at yet another. This should really be table service. Make sure you leave the calorie counter at home! Food 8.5÷10 service 7⁄10

Make sure you wear your fat pants if you are eating at the Merrywell. The food is American style burgers and they are so filling! EVERYTHING is delicious! They Merrywell is great for any occasion. You can come here for dinner. A Sunday arvo for and also a Saturday night. It gets pretty packed for a Saturday night so I wouldn’t come here to eat just for drinks. They do amazing cocktail jugs, they even have Rekorderlig on tap. I love the Merrywell and I think it’s a great addition to the casino.
