Best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. Since moving back to the states I cry myself to sleep at night knowing that we don’t have Grill’d here. Luckily I’m coming back to Oz in June and Grill’d is definitely on our itinerary.

I was a firm fan of Grill’d when I was living in Melbourne, and was ecstatic to see one of their stores in Bulimba when I moved to Queensland 5+ years ago. The formula from store-to-store is much the same. Funky, cool eateries with a cool café vibe serving up the freshest gourmet burgers you hope for. The interior of my local Bulimba Grill’d sports a large chunky timber table littered with local magazines with long benches for communal eating. I love the concept, but in practice moving the benches in and out when someone new sits down is frankly a bit of a pain. The upper level is devoted to conventional tables and chairs, and this extends out the back for those balmy Summer days. There is a full drinks fridge offering a great range of boutique soft drinks, juices and beers(my partner LOVES this feature) and the menu is very easy to read on the large board above the ordering counter. Staff at this Grill’d are ALWAYS under the pump. Once I ordered a salad requesting nuts were left out due to allergies, and my order took an hour to make. No jokes, ONEHOUR for a burger, some chips and a salad with no nuts. Turns out they’d made the salad with nuts, realised their error and had to make it again. It doesn’t really explain the wait time, but in future I would avoid making the staff make anything«out of the ordinary» lest you have a similar experience. Aside from this mishap, which I should stress has only ever happened the one time, the staff are generally friendly, chirpy and cheerful and service is reasonably fast. The food however, is where Grill’d leaves other burger chains in the dust. Thick cut herb dusted chips are always crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The dipping sauces are delicious — my favourite is the herbed mayo, sometimes I even order two if I’m in a particularly indulgent mood. The burgers while being pricy when compared to other places, are HUGE. I can only stomach a Mini Moo(kids version) but I will often order a Bird and Brie or a Baa Baa burger(lamb, tasty cheese, relish and more herbed mayo) and sacrifice half. I will always love Grill’d and have been a consistent fan since I first discovered them years ago.

Nice casual eatery. The burgers are pretty good. I consider Burgers an American institution and Grill’d surpassed my expectations. I had the Summer Sunset burger and shared an order of «chips»(fries for me). The ingredients are fresh, and the burger has been cooked to the right done-ness without being too dried out. I have noticed this spot does become very busy during lunch rush and dinner rush. Appreciate that Grill’d has a charity program in place — that’s what those bottle caps are for, to place into the jars supporting local organizations for which they’ll split and donate at end of each month.

The burgers are great! Jam packed with fresh goodies. Served straight from the grill. No comparison to other fast food chains serving similar options.

ok… I’m a burger snob. I’ve had some off the best from the USA, from gourmet burgers to the slap together hockey pucks that they call meat. Grill’d is without doubt, the best burger I’ve had here in Oz so far. Wife loved it too. She had one with chicken & brie. Me — I go for the hot stuff wherever I can find it. couldn’t find it here, but none the less, it was a good burger. The fries(chips) were GREAT because they had some kinda rosemary seasoning on them. Couldn’t hold back. 45 bucks for two burgers, two fries and two drinks. Kinda pricy but then again, it’s oxford street. If I can find the same burger somewhere else for less, I’d probably go 3 miles outta my way for it. Since it’s only a couple blocks away, I dont’ care. I reccomend this place if you’re in the neighborhood.

I have only been recently introduced to Grill’d and the experience left me wondering where it had been my whole life and a little mournful of what I had been missing. The burgers here are the real deal, there is nothing half hearted about eating a Grill’d burger. You are committed once you take that first bite and I highly recommend not wearing white clothing unless you are happy to add a few tasty additions to your top. I had a ‘Simon Says’ burger with chicken, avocado, bacon, relish, mayo and salad. The chicken was super tender and the salad fresh but the real hero of the burger is the relish, mayo and avocado combination. So delicious and a delight for the taste buds.

You just can’t beat a good burger and Grill’d has got it down pat. Wannabe’s have come and gone around the eastern suburbs in recent years, most notably a big fancy operation at Manly that lasted just months and was so ordinary. Grill’d burgers are juicy and delicious, then add the salads and sauces and you’ve got a fabulous meal, not just a quick snack. The Bulimba store is the original and the best and gives back to the community too. This is a closeknit precinct and Grill’d donates cash regulalry to worthy causes in the local area as nominated by and voted for by the locals. Excellent.

Bulimba was the first place in Queensland to open up a Grill’d Healthy Burgers store. That was three years ago now and since then, this chilled out little store has become one of the most popular places on Oxford St. For around $ 10 – 20 depending on if you want chips and a drink as well, you can look forward to some of the best burgers you will ever be lucky enough to introduce your taste buds too. Choosing from the menu will be the hardest thing you do all day. If it’s your first time I would recommend a «Simply Grill’d» just to get your head around how good everything else will be. The second hardest choice of the day will be the dipping sauce with your chips: Tomato Relish, Herbed Mayo or Sweet Chilli Mayo. Many a street fight has been waged between the factions of different sauce lovers. The 99% of staff are teenagers there to have a good time, so expect a warm welcome and surprisingly quick service. Try and beat the rushes around lunch time and dinner on weekends. I challenge you to decide on just the one burger you love the most.
