Chicken On Lygon

The food is good. However, the owner of this place is an absolute prick with his employees. From the sitting area, we can hear him harass and badly insult his employees trying to do their best. I am shocked by such violence and will never go back for that reason. Please don’t encourage this behavior by giving this guy money.

somethings are the same, some things are not.
1. Yes this is a fast food joint, however, the speed is no longer fast. Be prepared to wait, even on some of the simple things. 15 minute wait on chicken and chips.
2. Yes your food will be prepared to order, so feel free to ask for gravy on your chicken burger if that is the way you like it
3. No, the chicken and the chips are not greasy at all. That is not to say if you eat a large chips you will not get fat, you will need to run around the block a few times because even the snack chips (smallest size) is big enough for me.
4. They do have salads, and burgers, and wraps and other stuff. All with or without chicken
5. Unlike other corner store/​takeaway joints this place has a level of clean that you really want to see in a take away joint.
6. All their chicken is Lilydale free range chicken! How awesome is that?
7. They now have a wider range of things that are not chicken, from muffins and coffee to baklava. Stick to the Chicken and you will be safe.
In short, if you are up this end of Lygon st, you need to drop in and check them out

We went hir for some take away, we ordered a large salad and a chicken, the salad wasnt so large since we got the litle that was left and charged for a large salad, the chicken was ok just because the wings on the chicken where burnt abd tasted burnt. we will not go back hir in any future…

I’m not sure how you have Gluten Free chicken when the birds are grain fed, but I’m not one to disagree with the quality of food that comes out of this place. Think of your favorite chicken shop — corner store, takeaway, cheap and easy. Add a layer of awesome, sans greasy and your somewhere in the vicinity of Chicken on Lygon.
Premixed salads, baked veggies, corn and more are the added value to the quality basics of chicken and chips. Burgers and more, your lunchtime is complete, and while many choose takeaway, the lack of other places to go on Lygon for lunch and the inviting interiors of prove too much of a lure.
