I was at Compass the weekend before last and sampled the pasta, as I didn’t feel like pizza. It was homemade gnocchi and truly excellent. Pasta dishes came with gluten free and vegetarian options. I love the 80s restaurant atmosphere including comfortable booths. It offers a nostalgic environment with winner dishes.

For a casual and family-friendly option in East-B, Compass is a good choice. There’s pizza of the old school variety(think: loaded toppings and carby stodgy bases) available in two sizes. This isn’t your super thin, sourdough base, minimalist toppings kind of dealy — the pizzas are generous so be prepared to share a large or split a couple of smalls between two. The flavour is decent, certainly not the best I’ve had, but for the casual vibe and low pricing I think they’re okay. The craft beer selection is good, though wine lovers aren’t well catered for. Stick to the beer and the delicious Aperol Spritz if you need a drink with your meal. Pro tip: make a reservation for your next large gathering of rowdy friends. There’s plenty of tables to fit your crew.

Well, this is another of those random restaurants that I decided to check out on my wanderings(though I do have to admit that I did have a hankering for some lasagne at the time). Mind you, half the time my random picks end up being the first place I encounter, or the only option available, but at least it gives me the opportunity to check something out that I might not otherwise(though I should try being a bit more adventurous). Anyway, this place wasn’t bad, and I did get my lasagne(which was okay, but I can’t say it was the best that I’ve had). They had some interesting beers available, which included Coors(something I haven’t had before — so I gave it a shot). What I liked about this place was that there were lots of little hidey rooms you could sit in, most of them large enough for a decent sized group. Oh, the steady stream of people that poured in through the door while I was waiting suggested that this is a pretty popular place.

This hipster pizza joint puts a smile on Jackie’s face. + 2−4−1 pizzas on Tuesday’s(dine-in only) + DJs set up their decks on the bar on Friday nights + The beautiful people of Brunswick flock here on the weekend evenings + They have awesome craft beers such as Barrow Boys and Four Pines + They make a glorious Aperol Spritz + Pizza is delicious. What more do you people want? Go there now.

Completely burnt gluten free base, no acknowledgment of a ruined meal, this has happened two weeks in a row, thanks but no thanks

Delicious pizzas along with main Italian meals, pasta and desserts. Great wine and beer. Excellent service. Could do with music, but the atmosphere is cosy. A must try. Love it.

I’ve walked past this location for 4.5 years and never went in. I noticed that there had been some changes in décor and figured it must have changed hands so gave it a try last week with my partner and child. What I loved: — Vintage retro original décor was not removed but just slightly updated — Good beer list — Thin delicious pizzas with a modern pizza and handmade pasta menu — Nice staff — Fireplace — Great sized venue and casual ambiance — Reasonable pricing — value Areas to improve: — Our eyes started burning towards the end of our stay and we all smelled like campfire when we got home — maybe the fireplace needs a good chimney sweeping or some exhaust fan isn’t working quite right — Wine list needs major improvement. 1 wine out of the 3 choices was good.(I love the prices but the quality was poor) Perhaps try for indie wines at good prices or talk to Tim up at Brunswick East Wine Store. Thrilled to have a comfortable and casual space with good quality food — an alternative to the pub around here. WILLBEBACK!
