Great bar full of a cosy atmosphere and an interesting mix of clientele, Atticus Finch seems best suited for an early evening wine, a post-dinner cocktail or a wee-hours whiskey. so basically they’ve got you covered for everything once the sun goes down. While its up, there’s also a beer garden out back. The kind of place I wish that I lived around the black from.

Everything about this venue is awesome. Staff are wonderful. Atmosphere is great. Tapas menu is phenomenal. Range of alcohol beyond good. Pool table and beer garden… enough said. Talking about this venue has just reminded me why i need to go back. Like right now. Bye.

I had a decent-enough cocktail while sitting basically in the dark(that seems to be the desired ambience in hipster cocktail bars these days?). The menu is full of fun stories and interesting cocktail ingredients, but mine(Four Larks) was a bit boring. I should never have to pay upwards of $ 20 for a boring cocktail!

Atticus Finch, that font of wisdom in To Kill A Mockingbird, has a winebar named after him. Now, if you’ve ever read the book, you’ll have an appreciation of the sort of character that the author created, and lets face it, if you’ve read the book and remember the name, you loved it. With that in mind, a place naming itself after such a character had better be good. And so it is. The menu is certainly very comprehensive when it comes to cocktails and drinks, and it’s a very nice place to catch up with mates. I like this place quite a lot. It’s well worth having a look at if you’re just after a fairly warm and cozy little place to relax.

A suave bar, straddling the line between upmarket and modern and the retro vibe of the inner northern suburbs, Atticus Finch is a good place to try some fancy drinks. The cocktail menu is extensive without being too overwhelming, and the drinks are prepared with care. There’s beer and wine enough to satisfy the buffs among us and is updated with regularity, so you can get your taster mentality on or simply enjoy a few drinks in a booth with your comrades. There’s also a decent selection fancy-but-not-too-fancy tapas and toasted sandwiches(anything with brie in it is usually a good choice). The outdoor area is well kempt and more comfortable than your average bar, without feeling too manicured. There’s choice between booths and tables inside, and everything has a slightly old world charm about it. The atmosphere is always pretty nonchalant, and all in all, it’s a visit to Atticus Finch will never be a bad way to spend an evening.

Wake up Boo! And get yourself down to the Atticus Finch garden where dreams are made, very hoppy beers are drunk, and delicious cocktails sipped. It seems like all the To Kill a Mocking Bird references were taken so I had to quote a song by a bang named after Boo Radley. Atticus Finch is a great place to meet a bunch of friends in Brunswick East. They have an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list and their beer garden is just great. Last time I was here, they had an amazing beer called the Hoppernator which all the guys loved, and the bartender mixed some fruity cocktails which the girls devoured. The staff are really chilled and friendly and good times are definitely to be had here. I imagine in the summer months it will get absolutely rammed.

Atticus Finch, no not the heroic father in To Kill a Mocking Bird, but the bar opened by the crew of the boutique wine store Black Hearts & Sparrows Wine Purveyors, is my favourite bar in Brunswick East. Inside, a bar that has courtroom qualities awaits — dark woods, elegant furnishing, and a ‘bookcase’ of LPs and various random items. A very low key and cosy bar, you’d come here to relax and grab drinks with friends or on a romantic date. They keep the lights dim to create a surrounding that is quiet and refined. The wine list focuses on both new and old world wines, but as the door highlights, «We like our vineyards and brewers small and independent». Already, you get the feel of the place at the door. With a great beer list as well, you can find Holgate’s premium Hopinator on tap(only two other venues have it on tap in Melbourne), it caters to all types of drinkers. Although Atticus Finch is mainly a bar, it does serve small bites to eat — share a cheese plate, Mount Zero olives, pâté, or terrine. All of it perfect for sharing. Atticus Finch, a great bar in general, is perfect for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles, and once dinner is over, you can come back for a second round.

In a humble space in Lygon street one can often find light pouring out onto the footpath, closely followed by the laughter an good times of the drinking folk inside. Atticus Finch is a deceptively narrow bar with extensive drink list and friendly staff that know what they’re doing. The tables along the side and the front fill up quick, and one can often find the back section taken over by a social gathering or after party of some kind. The din isn’t deafening and vibe is an eclectic mix of casual but fashionable, expect suits and ties amongst it.

If you just learn a single trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… That’s one of the many insights Atticus Finch shares with his little boy, Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird. So let’s take heed, and let’s consider my point of view. This is one relaxing, chilled-out bar. It is as gorgeous inside as it is out, it never gets too crowded and the peeps here are just super nice. Now lets get to the hard stuff. Have you seen the wine list? This is the kind of place that wine lovers can really get stuck into for hours and still not sample everything they’d like to. Beers on tap change regularly so head to the bar to find out what you can get. The bottled stuff ranges from lagers and pilsners, to English real ales and even Belgian style ales. There’s also a good range of pear and apple ciders for those who like it a little fruity. The cocktail menu consists of a few classic numbers plus some very interesting concoctions unique to this establishment alone. Anyone fancy a gypsy fling?
