Decent place for a coffee in the morning. I had a chai latte and chocolate croissant, which were both nice but there’s no need to run across the city to have it especially. I would recommend it if you’re in the area and after something quick and good, for an average price. I could see the baking going on outback so I imagine if you got the croissants while still warm it would be awesome. My tip: I went at 8 and the Nutella donuts weren’t ready. Damn it. So go later.

Valentine’s has the BEST quiche in the CBD. They are small but INCREDIBLY soft and melty and gone by 12.30pm. I can’t talk about their other wares as I don’t order anything else. Coffee was Merlo, now Bacano and ok. It was nothing to ring home about. If you like Bacano, go to the real Bacano bar on Charlotte(??) Street. When you can get a seat it is good. The three times I managed to dine in, I enjoyed the space and décor and feel. However… all three times something went wrong. When they have such limited clientele(due to small space) I really can’t see how they go wrong. They have staff like nothing else either. There’s not been a time where there were less than 3 on board. Twice I never got my coffee — once I even spoke to the person I ordered it from and they looked at me dubiously. Another time, I had long finished my coffee and had to go back inside and ask where my food was. I then saw it being whipped up. Finally the last time I finally got to the front of the line(more behind me) and the woman decided it was time for her to start making coffees. The quiche guy then came over on his bosses instruction and took my order but didn’t know how to run the till. So he took my post-it note away and stuck it on the bench. After a minute, the woman came back and asked me what I wanted. I said I’ve already ordered. There was parlance in French and finally my eftpos was done. That was one of the times my coffee didn’t show up too. Please get your act together, Valentines. You could be such a great place.

Coffee that tastes like coffee, check. Smooth roast using bacano beans, hot not warm, and reasonably priced! Ordered a ham and cheese croissant baked fresh daily in store using leg ham and gruyère cheese it was hot and creamy and oh so layery! Definately going to return here and next time take photos of all the options. The quiche looked amazing so may have to try thst next. The only let down was the distracted staff :/
