If you’re in dire need of an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and just want to unwind with a refreshing beverage, then Ryan’s on the Park has you covered. Set within the entrance to the Treasury Hotel(across the street and through the fairy light-lit park from the Treasury Casino), it boasts an extensive bar with a wonderful sunken lounge area. Smooth jazz descends on this quite oasis and allows weary hotel guests and fellow Brisbanites to have quiet business meetings or a pre-dinner cocktail. Thursday nights come alive with live music, and often large groups swarm around several large tables elevated above the lounge area. During the day, it’s a great place to perk up for the morning ahead with a shot of smooth coffee. And I’d definitely recommend having one of the chocolate fudge and walnut brownies on display — they are perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle. The cocktail list features classics such as Negronis, Mai Tais and Mojitos, as well as signature cocktails, namely the Pink Lace(a well-balanced concoction of gin, elderflower liqueur and grapefruit juice). Of course, there are a good selection of tap beers, including the likes of Fat Yak and Asahi. This is a great little place to escape the city and avoid the crowds of rowdy punters.
