Oh guess what? Yet another coffee place in the corner of George St and Ann St! I go there very rarely, mostly when we have meetings on Ann St. It’s OK, but let’s be honest, I might have coffee instead of blood in my veins, I will drink it all. The place is rather quiet, there are few tables inside and several outside as well. They serve coffee/tea and some snacks/breakfast-kind-of-food as well. Honestly I’ve never been around during lunch time, so I don’t know if they have lunch menu. Surprisingly I’m a No-Name there, they never ask me for it. Maybe they KNOW it’s too complicated to spell and prefer to skip that painful part of me spelling it, crew writing it down, correcting, asking where am I from, having a small talk… :) We usually have a coffee in, of course they have take away as well. Coffee is a OK. What annoy me, is the tables. Yes — I’m that picky! See, they have some ‘normal’ tables, few of the bar height too. And few of them that drive me nuts. Either tables are too short, or the chairs are too short — not sure which one. Every time we sit by the Wrong Table, I end up trying to squeeze my legs under the table — doesn’t work well, especially when I’m wearing heels. If not, I will try to sit sideways — well, that makes me doing some weird yoga-kind positions when I reach for my coffee. Not the best idea, unless you want to end up with coffee all over your clothes! Chairs by these tables are back-less, so it kills my back too… And of course, the solution is easy — sit by normal looking tables!(or just stop complaining) Oh, they accept cards, from $ 10 up. Large coffee I believe is $ 3.80, which seems to be a standard in here. So in summary, yet another coffee shop, coffee is OK, and do not sit by the Wrong Tables if you’re wearing heels! :)

Put simply, it’s a coffee place. I had a coffee from here because it was close and convenient between the places I was walking to. The coffee? It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t terrible, but it tasted a little burnt. The staff were chatting to each other and I had to wait a few minutes which isn’t that great when you’re in a hurry… and I wasn’t really in the mood to tell them to hurry up(lucky them). The Chai Latte was okay, they forgot to put cinnamon over the top and they forgot to add my sugar… not a super fantastic experience here because these mistakes are ones that barista’s should not make.

This is my husbands favourite coffee shop at his work and after meeting him for lunch one day I know why. The coffee is good, not outstanding as it depends who makes it. The owner is great with his coffee machine, whereas some of the younger girls still seem to be learning the ropes. There’s a lot of competition in this complex, so my husband has to go back for a reason — and it turns out it’s the chocolate coconut slice. For $ 3.80 you get a mega wedge of slice, which is pretty good in the city. I realised he obviously REALLY likes it when the staff grabbed him a piece as he approached the counter. They also do good burgers for reasonable prices, including a chicken schnitzel one I swear is under $ 6.
