New On the block of Brisbane’s West End Restaurant District is Lumbini Nepalese Restaurant. Serving up a modern take of the Nepalese Traditional Dishes. The staff are welcoming and friendly. For Entrée, I selected from a mix of dish styles, an apparent Favourite, Momo Pork Dumplings(I had them fried) came out potsticker style with an ajvar sauce. They were indeed pleasant morsels For main course, after deliberation, I picked the Jhinge Tihun — Prawn & Eggplant curry with capsicum and onion. This is a sweeter style Curry, less heat but rich flavours(Very typical of Nepalese currites) served with rice. I also had a side of Aloo(something) a season blend of potatoes and peas and that was very nice.(to be fair, I didn’t eat all the rice or potatoes :) The one disappointment is the tiny wine list(only a few varieties on the list) and they had sold out of the only white wine they had., hopefully this will settle as they get known.
