This place has changed from the original owner who started it. The coffee is still just as good and you get a little biscuit on the side, even with takeaways.

Well made Long Black in a quite setting. As soon as I walked in, my take away plans turned into a sit down. Sorry work, you can wait.

I’ve always enjoyed ducking out of the histle and bustle of the CBD and into this picturesquely inviting café for a well-made Campos coffee from their groovy purple La Marzocco espresso machine. If you’re in the mood for a little cake with your coffee I highly recommend the ‘Green Tea Cake’ — a deliciously dense sponge interspersed with layers of green tea icing, which channels owner Brian Wu’s Chinese heritage.

Cocoawoo is a delicious little nook into which one can curl up with a coffee or hot chocolate feeling cocooned from the outside world. With it’s dark purple walls and dim lighting, there’s a warmth to Cocoawoo that is indeed very comforting. It’s not the sort of place I’d go to all the time, as it’s a little off the beaten track, but for a special occasion, hot date or chocolatey pick-me-up it’s a little bit special. I’ve had coffee from there, which is very reasonably priced at $ 3.20 for a regular and I’ve also tried their Italian Hot Chocolate which is rich enough and big enough for two. With Archive Fine Books just up the road, I highly recommend combining a wander through the shelves and shelves of old books followed by coffee and cake in Cocoawoo – makes for a nice afternoon adventure in the city.

Say Cocoawoo 5 times very fast and you’ll have an idea of my first impression at this little nook. «WOOOOO!» went my brain when I first tried their deliciously rich italian hot chocolate and the velvety Green Tea cake. The store is tucked out of sight on charlotte st, but is a definite first-date winner. The atmosphere is warm and the décor is gorgeous, We were served promptly and with a smile. And with most things under $ 20 on the menu this beats Max Brenners chocolatey butt any day.
