We were taken here by locals(and serious regulars) and we loved it. We had to wait for a table, but when we were seated we were promptly given a glass of green tea, and a bowl of the day’s broth. That kind of service makes me so happy, especially after a wait(only because the place is so popular). We ordered roast meat with rice(duck and pork for us), which we were advised was the best value meal, then shared a few veggie dishes between the table. The mushroom, broccoli and bean-curd dish of veggies is a perfect side-dish to share, and the bean with XO sauce salad is AMAZING. Oh, and the duck is pretty damn good as well. I was a little disappointed by the crispy skin pork, as it was a little cold when it got to me, and not super crispy. Next time, I’ll be sticking with the duck and the salads. The food was incredibly prompt to the table, and the roaring take away trade is again testament to how popular this place is with the locals. I’m looking forward to going back.

Great won ton dumpling soup, Peking duck pancakes, and stuffed beancurd. Cheap too! I recommend it!

I was invited along here for dinner by some friends. Given the décor and the name I was expecting standard, inoffensive Cantonese fair(little Bourke St level?). Erh, wrong. The food was super tasty and there was heaps of variety on the menu. The stir-fried crocodile with chives was off the chain. The service was typical of a Chinese restaurant but they were really friendly. Gotta love surprises.

A casual Hong Kong Style Cantonese restaurant in Box Hill. Cash only and no reservations as far as I could tell. Well worth the wait though. Authentic, awesome tasting food with friendly wait staff. We were a party of 10, so we got to try over a dozen dishes. The interior is nothing fancy, but the food is as good as anything I have had in Hong Kong. Our favorite dishes were: Roast Duck — excellent, crispy skin, juicy meet, great flavor Soya sauce chicken — perfect, authentic, just how it is meant to be done BBQ Roast Pork — Excellent, very tender, just the right amount of fat, that was also soft and tasty. Crocodile with xo chili sauce — This is the best crocodile meat dish I have ever had. They must pound the meat because it was very tender and went so well with the bold sauce. This should be their signature dish. Green beans, pork and dried fish. Excellent. I could eat this all day. Scallops with vegetable — Excellent, lots of flavor Prawns and egg whites — Loved this, large prawns, cooked perfectly with that fresh crunch. Singapore Noodles — Very tasty Mango Chicken — Tasty, good for kids and less adventurous eaters
