For a foodcourt stall, I would say that the prices are reasonable but the quality of food is still a little disappointing. The fried rice was lukewarm and the spicy dumplings were spicy at all, in fact it has some sort of weird peanut sauce over them, eek. Dont bother to order the salt & pepper squid, the dish is oily and the squid is rubbery. UGH With the number of stalls at the foodcourt, I am not coming back… that’s for sure.

Huge huge fan of this place!!!(which is why I come once a week) You can see the chefs making authentic handmade baozi and dumplings through the glass. Prices are cheap — you wouldn’t expect a place serving such great food at the food court of Westfield Bondi Junction! Dishes I love most are the the crispy chicken with garlic and chili over rice/vegetables, beef noodle soup, and of course soup dumplings. I get full without spending more than $ 12. Best Chinese dumplings in the Eastern suburbs. They have a larger restaurant location in Chatswood if that’s more convenient for you.

Located at the top of Westfields in the ‘fancy’ food court, New Shanghai is a good quick, cheap midweek dinner option. My pick is the mini steamed pork dumplings — the broth is delicious and they are perfect every time. I also love a dish that I call«delicious brown taste»: bean curd and black fungus in sweet soy(#colddish). It looks like a dogs breakfast but is just ridiculous. I always feel hardcore awesome when I order it. Yes it’s a food court dumpling place, but it’s a tasty food court dumpling place.
