Absolutely shithouse. After ordering a Bluray player from their online store and OBVIOUSLY receiving second hand goods(c’mon guys, the LEAST you can do is wipe the fingerprints from the unit prior to re-selling the goods) which(surprise, surprise) turned out to be faulty, I had the(dis)pleasure of having to visit the Bondi Junction store for a replacement. As soon as the floor staff realised I was returning goods(rather than purchasing new goods) and thus no commission for them, suddently I was up for a 25 minute wait while they served customers wanting to purchase new items. Not until I kicked up a stink did they arrange the replacement. Never, ever again. I’ve found most other JBs to be just as crap. Do yourself the favour and skip the whole franchise.

Shopping around for a new laptop is a thankless task if you don’t know much about computers. Unfortunately I’m fairly cynical and think that every Sales person is trying to sell me the item that he/she wants to get rid of the most and not what’s actually best for me. So, after trying two or 3 places and having almost made up my mind I was persuaded to go to JB Hi Fi by a friend who insisted that they ‘really know their stuff’. I wasn’t buying it and when the assistant told me that the model I had in mind(which I had seen at another store) was ‘junk’ my bulls*$t detector went onto high alert. However, over the next 30 minutes or so this guy proceeded to convince me that I needed to buy another machine and by the time I handed over my money I was convinced that I was getting a great deal. He knew his stuff, was persuasive but not too over bearing and most importantly, I believed him. I may be wrong, but its my impression that they hire very good staff to work the floor. That they have a wide range of products at excellent prices doesn’t hurt either.
