I know the East has its egg in a city that already has way too many tickets on itself. But when the Sunday starts to wane and the customers thin, it gets increasingly hard to forget who ordered, if not also ordered what. My friend got her super weak, as requested latte, with which she was duly satisfied. But it took several winks, waves and return visits by staff till I finally got my skinny flat white. Ok. It was yum. Not so my mini lemon meringue, with the actual filling being sweet, not tart. An interesting sideshow when some free range infant attacked my friend’s perm from behind and on the street, a phalanx of police dragging off some shirtless aggro dude. I know, I thought the East was crime free???

Below average coffee, food is alright, however some staff is beyond rude & just leaves a further dent to the business. Such a waste to an almost perfect location.

I don’t know why I love this place… it must be the vibe because it’s always PACKED… it’s not anywhere as good as Max Brennar or the Lindt café and yet it is one of those places I always seem to frequent. They make a decent cup of coffee… but since its«Café Chocolate» can i suggest a Mocha and their banana bread is quite good… but despite that I don’t think there’s anything so special about this place… I guess it’s kind of like love, you can’t explain it, you just feel it… and that’s how I feel about this place, it’s got me hooked but i can’t tell you exactly why…

I don’t think people come here for the food, the service or the coffee. You can certainly get better around the junction. Café Chocolat is all about location, location, location, baby! Its about who’s going to Westfield, what they’re wearing and whats the ‘goss’. This place could quite possibly be the actual heartbeat of the junction itself. Not to say the food is bad. I thought it was ok. Not cheap mind you, but you’d expect to pay a premium for having the best people view this side of Bondi Beach. You might have to wait a little while too. You see, they don’t really need your business. And why would you want to leave anyway? If it was about the food or coffee I’d go elsewhere. If its about feeling like you’re in BONDIJUNCTION — this is THE place!

Don’t get confused, this isn’t the chocolate bar the name implies, it’s a café in the heart of Bondi Junction. This is a place to be seen, a perfect meeting place to reunite with old friends, or set up a café meeting. It’s connected to the Westfield shopping centre, at the exit to Bronte road. The coffee is alright, nothing amazing, expect to pay roughly $ 4 for a strong latte, if you prefer to spoil yourself try the iced coffee, with vanilla bean ice cream, topped with whipped cream, it’s quite good. The sandwiches and selection of pastries leaves a lot to be desired, and although the staff are very helpful, the wait times for service can often be long.
