Remember the days when you would actually *leave* the house, go a store, and choose a DVD? Like, an actual physical DVD? For those of you who answered«no», move along, there’s nothing to see here. I do. And back in the day before downloads/streaming/iTunes became standard, I used to frequent Atlantic DVD. The shelves, and shelves, and then more shelves of movies make me feel like a kid in a candy store. New releases, cult and hard to find, foreign films… yes this place is definitely my bag.(Despite having to drive out to its frankly inconvenient location). I could, and have, spent hours in here. Sadly, browsing the racks only has occasional novelty factor for me now. How times have changed huh.

Gotta love Atlantic DVD. One stop rental shop for all your movie and gaming fixes! If you’re not a gamer then the gaming section can be pretty overwhelming. I am a bit of a gamer girl/geek/nerd whatever cliché term you’d like to use, so I absolutely love heading to Atlantic and spending my time browsing through the selections so that I can spend my weekend at home playing games. I have a social life, I swear. The range that’s available at Atlantic DVD is pretty insane! It takes me a good half an hour to go through the movies before I feel that I can commit to a decision. Those old favourites that are always hard to find are incredibly easy to find at Atlantic. New releases? Check. Cult classics? Check. Black and white? Check. Action, Romance and Comedy? Check, check and check. Get the picture? Next time you plan on hiring a game or DVD, treat yourself and head down to Atlantic.

This may be a shock to all of you out there in Unilocal land, but back in the day I used to play the occasional video game. In fact many have thought that I have more than one geeky bone in my body. While that is open to conjecture(and interpretation), it did lead to me reviewing games for a living a few years back. ‘Awesome’ I hear many of you say, and yes it was, but I did not get all of my games for free. Often I was forced to rent games, and my first(and only) stop for this was Atlantic DVD. Back in the days of an Australian Prime Minister who looked like Elmer Fudd, Atlantic used to be enormous! A very decent sized game selection and the largest selection of retail dvd’s in the state. In the last 2 years it has been down sized, but they really do squeeze a stupid amount into a reduced space. Not as many DVD’s to purchase, but still an impressive selection that should keep fans of Jolt busy for many an all nighter! One new element that I only noticed today was the 24hour rental station. Positioned right next to the front door, all you have to do is join up, pick out your rental online(will be reserved for 3 hours) then drop down to pick it up with your special members card and the casholla(check out the photo to see what your in for). In short, take it from this geek /Adonis, Atlantic is the BESTDVD and Game rental joint going around(DVD purchase as well), and well worth an extra drive if you live across town!
