Since the new owners have taken over I don’t go there often. If you like burnt coffee this is the place for you. Not as friendly as the old staff were either. I’d prefer to go across to the gourmet shop than here.

I come here if I’m in the Blackwood area and I’m craving a Balfours Apricot and Custard tart. They actually stock them here, fresh off the delivery truck. Well they stock one at least, so it’s first come best dressed. But I’m happy to fight for my right to it, since they’re rare as hens teeth outside the actual Balfours cafes. So that for me deserves 4 big stars. In a nutshell — special custard tart stockists!

I have eaten here so many times! Simple décor, good seating and lots to choose from on their board. Kids can enjoy a thickshake or a milkshake with their hotdog and adults can do the same otherwise there are other choices from their hot servery display. It’s not serve yourself and there’s no table service just a nice place have a pit stop on your travels. Located in the Foodland shopping centre half of Main Road at Blackwood with a bakery next door and so many other cafes to choose from but this is one of those special ones which keeps ‘em coming back. The prices are reasonable which is another bonus. Very popular with the pensioner set too because of the seating and in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Outdoor seating with bright umbrellas and plenty of indoor seating also.
