El Jannahs has a very good reputation for great Middle Eastern food. Their Blacktown store very much lives up to that standard. The menu is large enough that everyone will be happy. They have a great three skewer platter(EJ Platter) that offers a choice of three meat skewers, chips, hummus, their amazing garlic sauce and chillie bread. All this for $ 20. And it comes with two packs of Lebanese bread. What’s not to love? They are also famous for their chicken rolls(kebabs). Make sure you get yours with plenty of garlic sauce!

Extremely bad service tonight. Ordered a sit down ej special. They left out the kafta and placed the eat in quarter chicken order in a take away bag. The pickles container was open and spilled in the take away bag. The beef swarmer ordered as a takeaway was left out. Called the place and as suspected the manager wasn’t there. Beside an apology, no offer was made to remedy the situation. Extremely disappointed. I’ll think twice before going back. Make sure you check your bag 3 or 4 times before leaving. Very amateurish. For the $ 63, it would have been far better spent going to kfc or Oprtos. You could have ordered a decent meal to feed the family with change to spare. Also, they are quick to remedy the problem if they make a mistake. El Jannah has a lot to learn going forward.

Best chicken you can get in western Sydney. Quick, cheap, tasty. Used the be cash only, now offers eftpos. Chips are generally fresh as well. Seating is always packed at peak times, so we generally do take away.

The first few times I ate here I got the EJ chicken burger, the pricing was very reasonable and the burger quite nice. I wasn’t a fan of the pickles with chicken but they can easily be asked to be removed. The chicken has a tangy, Limey taste which was unique and not at all displeasant. Being a mayo lover I loved the Mayo served with the burger but even more so the garlic sauce I asked for with my chips. One of the best garlic sauces I’d tasted. The last time I went I thought I’d take a chance and try something not chicken, it being a chicken place made me think it would not be as good as the chicken meals. I ordered the EJ traditional beef burger which is served with coleslaw. LOVEDIT. did not disappoint and despite being full I ate it all. The layout of this store is very minimal but I suppose the look of the store is not what they focus on. It can get quite busy and a table may be hard to find despite the largeness of the restaurant.

I’ve heard a lot of great deal about their signature take on Portuguese chicken & ordered several boxes online for an event. Their online ordering system is okay but what proves a bit difficult is the pick up. As I was rushing, I just want to pick up & go. I know they are busy at times & hence decided to order ahead online for a particular pick up time. They have to improve pick up procedures as most don’t have the time to produce order numbers from an email. You would have thought that producing your credit card & an a matching ID& them looking at their system for your order would do the job. But a complex somewhat manual procedure in place does injustice to their product & reputation. Being busy most of the time, they need to streamline turnover & delivery of product. To their credit they waived my inability to produce the order number, chopped up my order & boxed the same. The chicken were great as expected. Will try to order or go there and eat again.

Never fails to hit the spot. The best charcoal chicken I’ve ever tried and if you dine in, you get all the pickles etc. Makes for a delicious cheap family dinner. The sauces are great! The garlic sauce is spectacular, but not for the faint hearted!

When they first opened up at blacktown the food was very good, now they’re busy and take out the rolls earlier so half is hot and good and the other half not too good.

First time trying the much-loved chicken charcoal place! Gotta love that garlic sauce, eh? The crowd to order was a little chaotic in the evening, but once our food was ordered, the service was really timely and friendly. The platter is the best thing for your first time there, it’s got bits of everything to try. I see why it’s so popular — it’s fast food in the sense that it’s good for getting something quick, but the cooking has that homely feel to it. Would recommend to all you Western Sydney-siders to try!

Who loves garlic sauce!!! MEEEEEE Had my craving for charcoal chicken and garlic sauce for lunch so thought I would head over to try the new Blacktown branch instead of the original Granville branch which I ate at after Uni on my way to work. Situated near Westpoint Shopping centre, it was definitely easier to find parking here and was only a short stroll to the place. First impressions, just as busy as Granville but alot bigger and more tables. I ordered half a chicken with lebanese bread, pickles, and their famous garlic sauce. When I say famous, I know of work colleagues who cross the harbour bridge and make the trek down for just a tub. The chicken here was cooked fresh, so it was moist with its crispy skin that was charred from the coals and had a beautiful mild sour taste from the lemon and vinegar marinade. Now to make this chicken AWESOME, you have to dip it in the garlic sauce. Light, creamy, and deliciously garlicky!!! The pickles cleanse the palate so that you can take another bite of the garlicky tastiness. So glad that EJ was able to keep the food consistently good at another branch. Make sure you order a bowl of chips that comes smothered in chicken salt, totally recommend with the garlic sauce. There are other menu items, but I always end up ordering the same thing cause its so good. Why not, buy a tub of garlic sauce as it goes with almost anything!

Don’t get me wrong– the food here is AMAZING. I have no complaints about the food what-so-ever. The thing that puts me off about the Blacktown store is the service. It’s HORRIBLE! Every single time I have been there(or any time any of my friends or family have been) they have always been missing things from their order. The female staff seem very friendly, but the male staff are rude and won’t even look you in the eye. One boy there sighed and leaned on the counter as if he were bored out of his mind. And if you dare ask them about the food that’s missing from your order, they look at you as if you’ve insulted them! I also witnessed them being very rude to a lady who came in to ask if a discount voucher was still valid. They laughed at her after she had left. Food is good. Service is shit.

El jannah is spreading its garlic juces far and wide across every Sydney ghetto. Blacktown suits El Jannah for the chicken is also black and burnt to perfection. Being new this El Jannah serves the same chicken, garlic sauce and sides as the granville store, although it is much newer so finding a table to eat is easier and the bathrooms are cleaner. Only thing which detracts from the awesomeness of el jannah is the tabouli. This franchise’s tabouli is too watery with old tomato. Also sometimes they dont record aome small purchases on the register and provode you with a receipt. Maybe they’re avoiding tax expenses by not recording cash transactions hmmmm?
