The café vibe and view is great for a romantic dinner. They seemed busy, with full tables and not enough servers(on a Wednesday night) but our server was super apologetic, and brought out some free dessert wine to smooth things over(which worked well!) The fillet was amazeballs. The White chocolate cheesecake was killer as well. Maybe a little bit pricey? I felt for date night it was reasonable, but I couldn’t make it a weekly thing :) Living in Adelaide, I’m a little embarrassed it took this long to go try it.(BTW they have prancing pony pale ale! So an extra star in my review!)

Windy Point Café is the kind of place you take your Mum for dinner(although not on a big number birthday, you go upstairs to the restaurant for that). Boasting the best view of any restaurant in Adelaide, with divine floor to ceiling glass of the city lights from the South-Eastern Adelaide Hills, you’d eat anything put in front of you whilst you stare at the cityscape — but have no fear, the food here is pretty spesh. Windy Point Café takes in the legacy of the upstairs restaurant(yes there is the café and the restaurant, there is quite a difference, café downstairs and restaurant at ground level but you’ll figure it out!) in featuring modern Australian cuisine sourced locally and presented at a very high standard. My favourite dish here is the kangaroo, a food that is so tricky to cook correctly yet always comes out really well. I’m always delighted by the food here, and although pricey, the food and view is well worth it. Service here is always quite excellent, full table service is complimented by attentive staff who are knowledgeable of the menu and the wine list and happy to give recommendations when asked(or not depending on the waiter). I’m always delighted here and when calling up to book a reservation the staff at the end of the phone are happy to organise your table as required(you must always call ahead if you want a table on the glass, ALWAYS) and will give you the times of service when you get the table you want. The only downside I find with this excellent café is the noise level can be a bit off the charts during prime service time. It can get hard to hear your other dining mates during these times so if you’re looking for a more intimate experience, come for a later seating or head upstairs to the restaurant and pay more for a bit of quiet time. A fave of mine, bring the family and the rellies from interstate and overseas and show off our great city and its great food. Also, brunch on Sundays!

Windy point is the perfect place for brunch or lunch on a weekend. The location is absolutely beautiful and the dishes are divine. In a city with a coffee culture, where competitive café dining can mean pricey meals with long waiting time, Windy Point offers amazing quality meals with the best customer service in beautiful surrounds. What’s even better is the price is not as much as you may expect, on par with many suburban coffee houses. Highly recommend!

My wife and I visited for our 9th wedding anniversary, having previously dined several times at the restaurant above. Great service(mainly from the polite and friendly Emily) and things moved along at a nice pace. My wife had the Scotch Fillet with jumbo prawn, which she really enjoyed and I had the Orroroo Kangaroo from the specials. Roo can easily go wrong but mine was cooked to perfection, with the sauce perfectly flavored. Stupidly I ordered a second champagne when I should have ordered red but the fresh leafy side salad soon had my palate sorted(the sweetness of the dates was a nice inclusion). For dessert we opted for cheesecake and the stewed rhubarb/fresh strawberries with custard… both delicious! Price wise it was similar to the restaurant but with more of a café ambience. We saved 25% through which helped make this a slightly more affordable experience! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily recommend the Windy Point Café to anyone!

Attentive service from staff and a great view that is slightly more wallet-friendly than the upstairs restaurant. Immaculate presentation of each meal, from the entrée to the dessert. Having just a main course will not provide the full experience, nor will it grant you the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful evening sunset. Take your time and savour the Pièce de résistance!

Very unique place which offers amazing meals for a fair price. Food takes its time to arrive but thats due to presentation /perfection. Main chef is Brendan O’Keefe. You will need 3 courses as it adds to the experience of fine dining with the stunning view.

The Windy Point Café(below the Windy Point Restaurant) now serves brunch on the weekend. The menu was very interesting and the food lived up to the creativity described on the menu. Throw in fantastic staff, good coffee and lovely view, what a wonderful way to spend the morning!

A must dine experience for anyone that know what is good for them. Best views of any restaurant in Adelaide and just an all round amazing food consuming delight. Windy Point looks out over the ocean and Adelaide from an amazing vantage point in the Belair hills. The food is expensive but if you only do fine dining once a year you wouldn’t be making a mistake of this was the place to do it. They also have a more casual and less expensive café that is open during the day so if you don’t feel like spanking it up but still want the views then I can highly recommend this also.

I remember coming here when I was younger and was so very impressed by how posh the whole place was. And to think there is a separate restaurant, which is more exquisite. This just blows my mind a little. Although, it has been some time and so things may have changed a little. I doubt it though! Perhaps I am just of low standards, but anyone that puts my napkin on my lap in a firkin«café» is a bit over the top. Oh well. At the end of they day, this was definitely of restaurant standard thus serving delicious predominant Australian cuisine. The view was also breathtaking. although I am told that the restaurant view is even more the spectaculator. Fair enough, you get what you pay for. Still, the café is an impressive option nevertheless. Note: the prices at both the café and the restaurant are not too drastically different from each other.
