History

Established in 1998.

You will find the only organic winery in the Swan Valley in Memorial Avenue, Baskerville (near Upper Swan). This was part of the district originally established for grape growing during the 1920s by people from the Dalmatian area of southern Europe (on the Adriatic coast). Before this the land was used for grazing.

Duncan Harris makes a wide choice of organic wines at his Swan Valley winery. From deep red Shiraz to dry whites, like Verdelho, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Also a range of fortified sticky wines.

The first sparkling wine that was made on the premises is named «Madeleine Claire» after their daughter — this Traditional bottle fermented Method (Blanc de blanc) is a vintage sparkling Chardonnay.

As of 2013 the first Australian certified organic brandy, and grape vodka became available from Harris Organic Wines.

Duncan H.

Business Owner

Duncan Harris grew up in Tasmania’s Tamar Valley, and came to Western Australia in the 1990s, eventually buying the Swan Valley property in 1998. While working full-​time as an engineer, he spent every spare moment working to establish his winemaker’s dream of an organic vineyard and wine making facilities at the Baskerville property. The organic winery opened to the public in 2001.
